Saying their name out loud brings them back, even if it’s just for a moment. You remember their laugh, humming while they folded laundry, the little things that made them... them.

We might not get to make new memories, but saying their name keeps the cherished ones close. Saying it keeps their presence alive in everyday conversation. And when someone else says their name, it reminds us that we’re not the only ones remembering, which is its own kind of gift.

How do you feel when someone says your loved one's name?

Aileen is survived by her son, Thomas "Joe" Greer and his wife Rose of Inman, SC; seven grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, and eight great-great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her two husbands: Thomas H. Greer and Don L. Roddy; daughter, Kathy Bryant; son, Michael H. Greer and son-in-law, Jimmy Bryant; four sisters: RV Sanford Eunice Kneisley, Ruby Gowan and Ethelou Goforth; three brothers: Crayton Strickland, D.J. Strickland and Bennie Strickland.

Aileen graduated from Boiling Springs High School in 1950, which was the first graduating class that had a twelfth grade. She worked at Raycord until it closed and then went to work at Springs Industries until her retirement. She did not stay retired for long before she went ack to work as a Walmart Greeter. She had a strong work ethic and continued working until she was close to eighty years old.

Aileen loved Elvis Presley, gardening, flowers, chocolate, and crocheting. Family and friends would often be gifted scarfs, Afghans, and pillowcases that she had "made with love". She always loved music in her younger days, if there was something playing with a good beat, Aileen would be up dancing with the young people. When she got older, being in a wheelchair did not stop her from moving her arms and swaying with the music. She will be remembered for her love of music, dancing, her fun spirit, and the deep love she had for her family. She will be deeply missed.

The family wishes to sincerely thank the staff at White Oak at North Grove for the compassionate care and support they provided to Aileen during her time at their facility.
