Four years (and a few weeks) ago, I saw my first clients via Telehealth under the banner of Balanced Rock Wellness. Today I found out that we were voted the second best mental health clinic in Boise for 2024 by the Idaho Statesman. We have grown and changed over the course of the last four years in ways I never could have imagined on that first day as a new practice owner, but some things remain true through it all: I love our team and I could not be prouder of how each therapist that has joined our family for any length of time from then to now has impacted the Valley for good. Looking forward to many more years of loving and serving together with them (and if you're considering counseling, we'd be honored to be a part of your journey. ♥️)

Independence Day

WHAT does it all mean anyway,
Noise of cannon and boom of gun,
Deafening, colorful fire display
Starting in with the rising sun?
Ah, it means that this land of ours,
Fringed with mountains and decked with flowers,
Warm with sunshine and wet with dew,
Is dear to the hearts of her people true.

Every whizzing rocket that seeks the sky
And bursts in beauty, the world above
Proclaims aloud, as it journeys high,
A nation’s pride and a nation’s love;
It seems to speak of her wonders here,
Her mines so rich and her skies so clear,
Her harvests grand and her waving pines,
Her fields of green and her creeping vines.

Oh, a glorious day is this day we keep!
For under the noise and the powder scent
Is a strain of love that is wide and deep,
A touch of a nation’s sentiment.
Love of country the cannon speaks,
Love of freedom the rocket shrieks,
Love of the flag that waves above,
This is the meaning—a nation’s love .

This year marks the first ever Balanced Rock Wellness (And Friends) holiday brunch. Our sweaters were on point and the white elephants did not disappoint. But more than that, we showed up to celebrate each other’s moments of pride for the year and supported each other in the struggles it took to get here. Doing this job is tough. Deciding to be intentional about creating a community to insulate against burnout was one of the best decisions I ever made and I’m so glad the universe placed these humans in that community. Could not have asked for better. and another year of doing the work (and life) together!

Lindsay Fraley, LPC, and Kristina Erickson, LMSW, are currently scheduling consultations and have open availability for in office and telehealth sessions starting October 31st! Welcoming clients of all ages, specializing in a wide array of presenting concerns, including couple/relationship therapy and family therapy. Blue Cross and private pay accepted at this time.
