After two years, Nini is walking again!

Nini has been a therapy and rehab patient at Good Samaritan Society – Sioux Falls Village for several months. The team celebrated with a because Nini completed her program and is walking with assistance for the first time in two years.

Nini came to the rehab unit determined to build up her strength so she could discharge to a senior living facility. Even though she had to face many obstacles, she woke up every day with the determination to live her best life. And while staff acted as Nini's cheerleaders throughout her journey, Nini was just as much a cheerleader for them! The team is so proud of her but will miss her smile!

Have you given much thought to the importance of cognitive health?

It’s beneficial to give your brain a workout, just like you would your muscles. This includes seeking out new experiences and doing things that require problem-solving.

Trying some simple activities and changing up your routine can exercise your mind and help prevent memory loss.

June marked the very first "Arts Month" on campus, and what a vibrant celebration it was! From special art shows and unique arts classes to extra live music performances, creativity was in full bloom.

A highlight of the month was the Village Players’ second production:
🎭 "Clue: A Mysterious Death in Loveland"
🖋️ Written & Directed by Twin Home Resident Jim Willard
🎬 Produced by Community Programs Manager Erin Andre

The talented cast featured residents:
Jean Coen, Barbara Englehardt, Barbara Irelan, Bob Birnbaum, Lloyd Greiner, Sharon Ruby, and Ellen Sowins.
Behind the scenes, staff members Steve Engle and Whitney Kissel brought the magic to life as the stage crew.

And the mystery? It was Mrs. Payle, the Housekeeper, who committed the murder of Mr. Boddy… by mushroom!

The evening wrapped up with a happy hour reception on the west grounds at the Pavilion — the perfect ending to a night of mystery and community spirit.
