We’ve been there: work hard > life happens > back to square one. That’s often because that person never went to maintenance or had the education to sustain their goal.

Maintenance done right can be slow and not make sense when you hear it described, but man is it a beautiful thing when you see it.

We can get you to the goal and educate you how in the process. Let us teach you how at the link in the bio!

Think your best life is behind you once over the hill? Becki Honner is here to prove otherwise. At 45 and a mom of four, Becki was told that "age and hormones" were the new bosses of her biology. She decided not to listen. Instead, she teamed up with us to be at a composition she envisioned and hit performance peaks she hadn't seen in years. In this episode, we’re dispelling the midlife excuses and diving into the exact mindset shift Becki used to reclaim her strength and silence the skeptics.

Carbs cause a rise in blood sugar: true.
A rise in blood sugar = a rise in insulin: true.
A rise in both = automatic fat storage: NOT true in every scenario. Here’s the differences…

TLDW: exercise = free medicine and excess DOSAGE = the poison in all things nutrition.

Trying to decipher when something crosses from the “ok” category into the territory of “better not…”? Here’s a simple lens to view it through.

Quick overview of getting your meat home for out of state hunts. Last flight made for a late night, but I firmly believe you have a responsibility to do everything you can to care for the meat you took- be it deer, elk, goose, or hogs. 65lbs of Texas pork should make some great meals in the months ahead!

Totals and timing is a simple mantra to remember your fueling on the bottom. Totals rarely change, but timing can based on intensity. Here’s a couple of tips:

FAQ: Sharing a summary + my thoughts on the new dietary guidelines- which are quite the shift from we had previously had. We also look at:
- Is HIIT better than zone 2 for fat loss?
- Will creatine alone help me build a bigger muscle?
- Are there lower thresholds of the macros we should avoid?

These all on the most recent episode that went live this morning!

We get a fair number of questions on fish oil supplements from time to time, so here’s a very direct and to-the-point summary on what you’re looking for:

Look for one that has a combination of DHA and EPA. You will need to look at the package to determine if they have both.

Do NOT buy “proprietary blends”- that goes for any supplement.

The general rule of thumb is 250-500mg/fatty acid/day for general health. It will be sold as ~1,000-1250mg/fatty acid/day or around 2,400mg. The 1,000mg of DHA and EPA is what matters.

Upper thresholds are crazy high at 3-5kmg. Here is a decent brand I am unaffiliated with. It removes mercury and has the USP certified seal verifying what’s in it is actually in it.

The body- and my- preference would still be from fish a couple times per week.

Takeaway: go fish more 😉
