“I started in the float pool as a med surg nurse, and at the time I didn’t realize that foundation would shape my entire career. Those first six months taught me time management, teamwork, and the basics of excellent patient care. My advice to every new grad is this: you don’t have to specialize right away. Give yourself the gift of a strong foundation. You have a lot of time to be a nurse, and there are so many pathways ahead of you.
At Saint Alphonsus, we’ve built a culture where it’s safe to speak up, safe to ask questions, and safe to grow. I hold open office hours because I want our nurses to know they have a voice and that their ideas matter. We are all here for the same mission delivering the very best care to our community and we do it together.”
