We would like to introduce the newest addition to our Physical Therapy Crew! Everyone meet Claire Reynolds! 👋

Claire Reynolds PT, DPT, SCS is a residency-trained Board Certified Sports Clinical Specialist. After earning her doctorate of physical therapy from Northwestern University, she completed her sports physical therapy residency through Memorial Hermann in Houston where she split her time between the clinic and athletic training room and sidelines of University of Houston. She is passionate about the entire return to sports continuum, from early post op care to late stage performance optimization. Claire has participated in and presented on research related to shoulder strength and MUCL injuries in collegiate baseball players.

Prior to pursuing physical therapy, Claire worked as a yoga instructor (E-RYT 200) and CrossFit coach (CF-L2), and maintains certification through USA weightlifting (USAW1). In her free time, Claire volunteers with Boise State University’s Olympic Sports Performance.

Claire and her husband met through CrossFit and love spending time working out, whether it be in the gym or in the foothills.

George A. Wade, MD passed away on Wednesday, June 4th, 2025. As the visionary founder of Idaho Sports Medicine Institute, Dr. Wade’s principles of personalized, innovative and team driven care established a unique environment within the athletic and medical communities.
All who encountered Dr. Wade were inspired by his graciousness, joyful gaze and engaging personality. Dr. Wade loved life and the Idaho outdoors. His enthusiasm, sense of ethics and insistence on fairness guided us all inside and outside the clinic.
Dr. Wade’s adventurous spirit lives on in all of those who knew him. His was truly a life well lived. We will miss him greatly.

This month’s employee spotlight is our wonderful X-RAY tech Roc! Roc spends most of his free time hunting and fishing and enjoys watching horror movies with his girlfriend! His plans for imaging in the future are to pursue a career with MRI and facility management!

Today we got to celebrate Brad’s retirement! He has been with ISMI for 32 amazing years and was such an outstanding Physical Therapist!

We asked Brad what his favorite thing about working at ISMI is and he stated “There’s so many it’s almost impossible to come up with just one but I enjoy the the whole Physician/Physical Therapy patient interaction. The therapists have relationships with the physicians onsite and everyone works as a team”.

He states he is most excited to travel and put some miles on his motor home while also keeping up with his sports and activities! Skiing, biking, swimming, camping, and hiking are some of the activities he will get to spend more time doing!

Thank you Brad for everything and we can’t wait to see what your journey looks like during retirement!

Our Story

Our founder, George A. Wade, MD, established Idaho Sports Medicine Institute (ISMI) in 1978. We are located on the Boise State University campus but are a private office created to provide specialized care to patients with active lifestyles. The staff at ISMI is comprised of Board Certified and fellowship trained orthopedic surgeons and a primary care sports medicine physician, as well as an exercise physiologist, certified athletic trainers, physical therapists, and radiologic technologists. This team approach assures that each patient receives a comprehensive treatment plan based on his or her specific needs. ISMI provides treatment of acute injuries, preventive care, training programs, coaches’ education and athletic event coverage. In addition, we offer athletic testing and performance services, including VO2 max, lactate threshold testing, isokinetic strength evaluations and body composition testing.
