There is so much information and noise related to healthy living, wellness and just feeling your best. You do not need all of it, and none of us could possibly integrate every latest idea or trend into our daily lives. So what’s a girl to do?

🎯 Focus on what matters most to you. Whether your goal is prevention, improvement or plain old vanity, it is a worthwhile goal. You know it’s worth it because you keep thinking about it! Let yourself focus and decide you’re going to get it.
📝 Outline your strategy. Do you want to explore hormone balance, supplements, increasing exercise or adding strength training? Maybe it’s time to shift or recenter your nutrition and eating habits. Identify some key areas that matter to you.
🗓️Plan. One day, one week at a time. Solidify one new habit or explore one new change. Let it be your thing for the time it takes to make it work for you. Then move to the next.

Transformation happens one small step at a time. The hardest step is the first one.

I used to think when my yoga teachers told me to “quiet my mind” that meant to stop thinking. To experience silence in my thinking, which I could never do. My mind doesn’t stop just because I close my eyes.

🧠 But mindfulness isn’t about inner silence.
🤍 It’s about detaching meaning from your thoughts.

Noticing, observing and watching. Without interpretation or response. Just seeing it happen in your own mind.

From awareness we create options. We give ourselves choices of what to think, which creates emotions we choose to feel on purpose, and those emotions are what drive the actions or inactions we truly desire.

Mindfulness is not about perfection. It is about curiosity and intention.

Whether you’re applying this to your work, your relationships, or your health habits, it is all the same.

The first step is always awareness.

5 years of consistency, controlling what I can.

My top priorities for the last 5 years:

✅ Sleep
✅ Building muscle through movement
✅ Balanced nutrition to fuel my body
✅ Enjoying the pleasures of life
✅ Growing my professional value
✅ Active engagement in my communities

5 years ago we had no idea what the future would hold as Covid began and everything changed everywhere. Fast forward and we find ourselves in some of the most uncertain times in America.

💯 Change is inevitable
💯 Uncertainty is the name of the game
💪🏽 Your power is in knowing what you can control and owning it.

There is no secret, there is no magic that will solve it for you.

All you need is a clear strategy that will get you what you want in wellness and in life. Things you can control no matter what. And then make it happen. Do it consistently.

The plan will change as circumstances change. But the strategy remains constant and you stay consistent. That’s how we grow, how we thrive. 💕💕

This is truly one of my greatest honors to be asked to host this conference. Dana was an inspiration and a personal mentor in my career. I remember many a board room conversation where she spoke up and advocated for the nursing profession as a whole. She had an elegance about describing specific situations and aligning them to a broader vision. I can only hope to bring a spark of her spirit and energy to this conference in May, but it is absolutely my goal.

I feel so fortunate to be surrounded by strong women in all areas of my life. I’ve had the benefit of knowing and growing with women from a variety of backgrounds, beliefs and interests and my life is so much richer for it.

I truly believe that we are stronger together.

When we lift others up, we rise higher.

Creativity and innovation expand when we create safe spaces and relationships for it.

I’ve talked to so many women over the last few months and there is one common theme I hear. It’s not about changing reality or arguing with what is, it is all about the next best step forward.

Progress. Love. Innovation. Growth.

Women are strong. We care, we solve, we create and we thrive. Most of the time not because of our environments or circumstances, but despite them.

Celebrating the women who inspire and support me, today and every day. 💕💕💕
