What causes a distal biceps tendon rupture?

This tendon helps bend and rotate the elbow. Ruptures usually occur from a sudden flexion injury while lifting a heavy load, especially if the weight shifts unexpectedly.

Symptoms include pain, weakness, and cramping during activities like turning a key or using a screwdriver. Middle-aged men are most commonly affected.

How is arthroscopic labral repair for shoulder instability performed?

When the shoulder dislocates or “slips” out of place, the labrum is often torn—causing pain, weakness, and repeated instability.

During arthroscopic repair, our surgeons use a small camera to view the torn labrum, clean the damaged tissue, and reattach the labrum to the socket using tiny suture anchors. These anchors hold the labrum in place so it can heal securely to the bone, restoring stability and preventing future dislocations.

This minimally invasive approach helps patients return to strength with less pain and faster recovery.

A shoulder can become so unstable after repeated dislocations that repairing just the soft tissue isn’t enough.

If the capsulolabral tissue is torn and the glenoid bone has been worn away, surgeons must rebuild both to keep the shoulder from slipping out again.

This combined reconstruction is especially helpful for:
• Collision & contact athletes
• People with loose or hypermobile shoulders
• Patients whose previous instability surgeries didn’t hold
• Anyone with glenoid bone loss from repeated dislocations

Restoring both structures gives the shoulder the stability it’s been missing.
