I’m usually not into trends, but I like this one. There’s so much information out there about how to improve yourself, how to focus better, how to optimize. I think there’s space for just existing without constantly striving to upgrade or distract ourselves. And yeah, getting comfortable with being bored is just another “improvement”, but it’s amazing to see what comes up when the mind finally slows down. Feelings, imaginations, memories… just being alive without squeezing life for more juice reminds me how close contentedness is below all the comparisons and goals I’ve inherited from society.
