Has our healing journey been all roses?

Nope — far from it. 🌿

From GI issues to back pain, shoulder tension, weight gain, stress, and everything in between, life definitely kicked us in the butt.

But if 2019 us could see 2025 us, we think they’d be proud. 💛

The biggest shift over the past 5 years? 
Our mindset.

We used to think food was the answer to everything – micro and macro nutrients.

Sure, we’ve dialed in nutrition — seasonal eating, smarter choices — but the real game-changer has been how we think about our health.

We’ve built habits around light, feeding windows, embracing the darkness, syncing with the seasons… but none of it would’ve stuck without first changing the mindset that got us sick in the first place.

✨ The lesson?

You can’t create new habits with the old mindset.

Shift the mind, and the body will follow.

“Blue light is bad” isn’t the real story.

Artificial blue light is the problem — not blue light itself.

Because the blue light coming from your home lights, LEDs, phones, and screens exists alone, completely isolated from the red, NIR, and UV wavelengths it’s always paired with in nature.

And when blue light shows up solo, it disrupts your biology big time:
🔹 Morning grogginess — No sunrise red/NIR → melatonin lingers → you feel foggy.
🔹 Low or no appetite — Without red/NIR, leptin can’t dock → cortisol can’t rise → no morning hunger.
🔹 Anxiety & depression — UVA drives serotonin, dopamine, and POMC → the feel-good, stabilize-your-brainchemistry.
🔹 Cravings — Blue light blunts leptin → poor glucose handling → more hunger.
🔹 Slow healing — Melatonin is your cellular repair hormone; blue light suppresses it.
🔹 SAD & mood instability — Again, you need UVA for serotonin + dopamine.
🔹 Poor sleep — Blue light at night destroys melatonin release.
🔹 Low testosterone — UVA activates GnRH → LH/FSH → testosterone.

💥 None of this is random.

But Here’s the Good News (and Why Blue Light Isn’t “Bad”)

In nature, blue light never shows up by itself.

Every sunrise delivers:
🌅 Blue to wake your brain
🌅 Red + NIR to repair mitochondria
🌅 UVA to build dopamine, serotonin, melanin, nitric oxide, and hormonal signaling
