During National Nurses Week, we want to recognize and celebrate the two nurse practitioners who lead Illumination Women’s Health with compassion, clinical excellence, and a deep commitment to women’s health.

As nurse practitioners, we are honored to build meaningful relationships with our patients, provide evidence-based care, and create a space where women feel heard, respected, and empowered through every stage of life.

In recognition of National Nurses Week, we also extend our gratitude to nurses and nurse practitioners everywhere whose dedication, advocacy, and leadership continue to make a meaningful difference in the lives of patients and communities every day. 💙

Maybe it’s not burnout.
Maybe it’s perimenopause.

A major new FIGO report published in May 2026 is finally validating what many women have been told to “push through” for years:

Perimenopause and menopause can significantly affect mental health.

Not just hot flashes.
Not just aging.

We’re talking about:
• Anxiety
• Brain fog
• Sleep disruption
• Irritability
• Mood changes
• Feeling unlike yourself

The new FIGO Best Practice Recommendations emphasize that these symptoms are common, often overlooked, and deserve evidence-based care and earlier recognition.

Hormones affect the brain too.

Women deserve providers who look at the whole picture — not just isolated symptoms.

“Your estradiol patch is backordered.”
If you’ve heard this recently, you’re not the only one—and it’s incredibly frustrating.
Especially when:
You’re finally sleeping
Your symptoms are controlled
You feel like yourself again
The good news? There are safe, evidence-based alternatives—but the right choice depends on more than just what’s available at the pharmacy.
Read it at the link in bio.

The estradiol patch shortage is frustrating—for you and for us.

This is a therapy we prescribe often because it’s effective and evidence-based. When it’s not available, it matters.

But here’s what I want you to know:
There are good, safe alternatives—and we will help you navigate them.

A full house this week and we are loving every minute of it.

Grateful doesn’t even begin to cover it—our team shows up every day with compassion, expertise, and heart for the women we serve. It’s truly something special to be surrounded by people who care this deeply.

We have the most incredible team—and we’re growing. More support, and more heart behind the care we give every day. .liane

💜 International Women’s Day

The 2026 theme, “Give to Gain,” highlights the power of generosity, mentorship, support, and collaboration among women.

When women lift each other up—sharing knowledge, encouragement, and care—everyone grows stronger.

We’re honored to support women through every stage of life with compassionate, evidence-based care.

Women’s History Month 2026. Leading the Change: Women Shaping a Sustainable Future.

Sustainable systems require women’s voices.

For too long, women’s symptoms were minimized.
Research gaps persisted.
Mental health was siloed.
Midlife health was dismissed.

Changing that is part of building a sustainable future.

At Illumination Women’s Health, leading change looks like:

Listening deeply
Practicing evidence-based medicine
Treating menopause and perimenopause with expertise
Integrating mental health as whole health
Creating care that is collaborative — not rushed

When women are supported, communities are stronger.

I pursued additional menopause training years ago because my patients needed it — during a time when hormone therapy was often surrounded by fear.

Now that menopause is everywhere online, I think it’s more important than ever to keep the conversation grounded in evidence and realistic expectations.

So proud of this incredible human
Today she educated nearly 100 primary care providers on the critical intersection of mental health and menopause—helping move care forward where it’s long overdue.
Grateful for leaders who show up, speak up, and make real change 💜💜💜

Two years ago today: a deposit on a small clinic and a whole lot of faith. Today, we’re in a bigger space with the most incredible staff. So proud of how far we’ve come.  So grateful for the people who came along for the ride.
