With each roll, the anticipation builds—will you pass your chips to the left, the right, or place them in the center pot? As the game progresses, the pile of chips in the center grows, and so does the competitive spirit. Cheers and playful banter echo as residents strategize and hope for the best outcomes.

Meet Michelle Mallett, Valley View's Artist of the Month.
In her artistic journey, Michelle discovered that the world reveals
itself in layers of wonder, much like the transparent washes
of watercolor that dance across her paper. Michelle's practice
centers on finding extraordinary beauty in what others
might consider ordinary moments – the way morning light
filters through flower petals, how animals carry themselves
with both grace and playfulness, and how landscapes tell
stories through their shifting colors and textures.
Watercolor has become her chosen voice for translating
these observations into visual poetry. Through this medium,
Michelle explores the delicate balance between control and
spontaneity, allowing pigments to blend and flow in ways
that mirror the organic patterns found in nature. Her
subjects – from whimsical animals that capture the spirit of
life's joy to detailed botanical studies that celebrate nature's
intricate designs – reflect my commitment to seeing beyond
the surface of things.
