Saint Alphonsus, together with Trinity Health, is holding health insurers accountable for their role in advancing patient care. Health insurers, including Humana, are posting record-breaking profits for shareholders, while we are expected to cover gaps. We cannot continue to do more with less.

Health comes first.

Despite our best efforts, we are still far apart in our negotiations, and if we are unable to reach an agreement before January 1, 2025, Humana will force our hospital, facilities, and doctors out-of-network. We urge you to take action now to avoid care disruptions.

If you are eligible for Medicare Advantage, you can make changes until the Annual Enrollment Period ends on December 7th even if you have already made a selection.

If you're undergoing treatment for a chronic condition, call the number on the back of your Humana insurance card to receive more information about Continuity of Care to continue in-network care at Saint Alphonsus. We are doing everything we can to reach an agreement with Humana, but we need them to put patients first. For more information, visit www.SaintAlphonsus.org/Humana to explore in-network plan options for 2025.

Are you joining us at the Festival? Let us know in the comments with a 🎄.

Forty years or so ago, a Treasure Valley holiday tradition sprung up in an industrial area near I-184 and Curtis. A few dozen Christmas trees were set up and displayed, while the West Junior High Choir sang songs and Miss Idaho 1984 Patty Hoag showcased her talent, according to the Idaho Statesman.....

Lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer death in the US, according to the American Lung Association, and Idaho ranks 33rd among all states for lung cancer screening.

During Lung Cancer Awareness Month, we're raising awareness about the lifesaving potential of lung cancer screening, which can mean detection of the cancer at an earlier stage when it is more curable.

This month, Dr. John East shared with KTVB about the state-of-the-art ION Bronchoscopy, which is making lung cancer screening in hard-to-reach areas of the lung possible and minimally invasive here in Idaho.

Reverence. Safety. Integrity.

These are all core values we are guided by at Saint Alphonsus, and on Veterans Day, these values are representative of the brave men and women, many of whom are colleagues, who have served our country in the armed forces.

Today we honor and thank our veterans for their selfless dedication and commitment to protecting our freedoms.

More than 400 people from 17 states met this week at the 17th Annual Ski and Mountain Trauma Conference in Sun Valley to give full-time and volunteer first responders the life-saving tools they need to serve their local rural communities.

From New York and Florida to Alaska and Idaho, first responders attended hands-on simulations, workshops, and lectures to bring state-of-the art techniques and tactics to Emergency Medical Technicians, paramedics, firefighters, ski patrol members, law enforcement officers and Search and Rescue teams.

A special thank you to Keynote Speaker Dr. Michael Lauria, the more than 30 inspiring speakers, instructors, and leaders who shared their knowledge this week, and sponsors including

The challenging nature of first responder work requires support, motivation, and a calling to serve others, and we are so thankful for the work of those who attended and all first responders who are the first line of rescue and a vital piece of any trauma program.

Take a look at some of this week’s event.
