I firmly believe life is meant to be lived and we should not be limited by our finances, health allergies and ailments (I have IBS and gluten sensitivity), or the grocery store confusion, when trying to nourish our bodies.

Salads of instagram

Two large handfuls - roughly 4 cups (or 1 days serving) of fav greens
1 McIntosh apple sliced (or your fav but I’d steer clear of Granny Smith)
Sliced delicate squash (thinly slice, remove seeds. Drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle with salt and pepper. Cook at 425 for 15-20 minutes until fork tender)
1/2 cup drained chickpeas
2 tbsp h**p seeds
1/2 cup shredded carrots
2 tbsp pumpkin seeds
2 tbsp goat cheese

Dressing:
1 tbsp tahini
2 tbsp lemon juice
Salt and pepper
1/4 cup olive oil
Vigorously mix and then pour over salad.

Eat giant salad full of protein, healthy fats, and fat and water soluble vitamins and enjoy!

Just a friendly reminder to eat the damn cookie. This has real butter, real sugar, real chocolate and it was really good. Make good choices. I’ll eat a croissant in Paris and skip the one at 7-11. The prepackaged cookies at the grocery store aren’t worth it, but my coworkers fudge was so good I ate 5 pieces. 2020 is the year I say no to black beans in my brownies and hell yes to the foods that bring me pure blissful joy.

Pad Thai - sorta. “Needs more noodles” was my husbands feedback. But I wanted more veggies. So the compromise was edamame noodles and beet “zoodles”. Peanut sauce was just peanut butter, sesame oil, garlic powder, and coconut aminos.

I want to start an Instagram entrepreneurial support group. What hashtags should I use? Can someone give me a caption idea? 🤷🏼‍♀️

Here’s today’s:
Opt outside. People don’t need to spend hours in the kitchen or sourcing complicated ingredients. I think the key to life’s happiness lay somewhere out here. So that’s where I want to be.

Here is a photo of some fall themed food. Also, a reminder that I’m still feeling inadequate at social media, like so many are so good, so why even try? 🤷🏼‍♀️ I’m smart enough to know there’s always space for one more, but insecure enough to wonder how I’ll ever break through. Well, for starters, I could post more (duh). Eggs are my favorite food - cheap, easy and can be made a dozen ways. Need ideas? Message me.

Authenticity. Adventure. Relationships. These are my core values. I’ve made $38,000 and $90,000. Money doesn’t drive me. So 4 years ago I made the choice to walk away from it, in hopes of being a better human. I recognize the privilege in the choice. But lately I’ve heard so many people saying how they just want to make ALL the money. And, if money is a core value (and there is nothing wrong with that) then I say go for it. My request though, is that you don’t look for happiness in it, because it isn’t found there. It’s found in the spaces and moments in between. It’s found on a sunny day, after a long climb, on top of a mountain.

“The NO BS Retreat” a place where women can come together and share real life s**t, create some goals, get their heart rate up and eat simple, nourishing food. I felt so lifted up after today. This little business of mine is a hustle and a slow burn, but I know it’ll get there, and days like today remind me how and why. Next retreat will be Spring 2020. Stay tuned. .co ❤️❤️ @ Table Rock

👋🏻 I’m Whitney and I have a confession to make. I have a strong love/hate relationship with social media. I feel intense pressure to use this platform to grow my business. I even took a 2 hour class on how to do it, and yet, I’m still failing. Failing because I would rather just cook and post to stories (bc it’s fast) or cook in real life for my husband or friends. I don’t know which hashtags to use, I don’t like worrying about my “grid” and if it’s inspiring enough and mainly I just know I’m not that great at it. So I resist it. But I crave connection and genuinely want to help people live their most badass life. So here I am, owning up to my failure but with a commitment to at least try. There may not always be an inspirational caption or even a post everyday. But Know that I am committed to the work, it’ll just look real fu*kin messy.

My no bu****it life

This past winter my husband and I lived in a camper truck on an organic farm. All of our meals were cooked on a single burner camp stove. Following this, we backpacked through the Philippines for a month before finally settling in Boise, Idaho. I firmly believe life is meant to be lived and we should not be limited by our finances, health allergies and ailments (I have IBS and gluten sensitivity), or the grocery store confusion, when trying to nourish our bodies. This company was born as a result of my own need of not wanting to spend so much time trying to navigate healthy eating and more time living a passionate, adventure filled life.

I am a certified yoga instructor, ran my first half marathon this past year, am an avid hiker and enjoy spending time with my equally as active wildland firefighting husband (the guinea pig for the majority of my healthy snacks). I spent eight years honing my business acumen working in the fashion industry for large corporations such as Neiman Marcus and Limited Brands.

This is an adventure in what we eat, the places we go, and the balance we can create.
