Congratulations to Dr. Bryn Parker of Moscow on being named the 2026 Idaho Family Physician of the Year!

For more than a decade, Dr. Parker has delivered full-scope rural family medicine including outpatient and inpatient care, hospital medicine, and operative obstetrics, while also mentoring future physicians and advocating for rural health.

Her leadership, teaching, and commitment to patients have made a lasting impact on families and communities across the Palouse.

As 2025 comes to a close the IAFP is celebrating our big win this year in securing a broadened medical exception for pregnant women who experience pregnancy complications. We are so grateful to our pro bono legal team and the four Idaho women, and two Idaho physicians, who joined us as plaintiffs. The Adkins v Idaho decision gave the broadest possible reading to Idaho’s bans, protecting pregnant women from harm and Idaho doctors from prosecution. We look forward to a 2026 filled with more small wins and big victories for family physicians and their patients across a range of medical practice issues.

The IAFP is so proud of our physician member, Dr. Abby Davids, for her advocacy on behalf of her immigrant patients in Idaho. A preliminary injunction was granted, allowing all immigrant patients in Idaho to have access to life-saving HIV treatment:

“This ruling saves lives,” said Dr. Abby Davids, a plaintiff and local doctor who provides HIV treatment. “If enforced, HB 135 would have forced me into the position of being unable to treat many of my patients with HIV. I feel immense relief knowing I can continue giving all my patients the critical HIV treatment they need.”

Today, a federal judge granted a preliminary injunction in the lawsuit Davids v. Adams. This preliminary injunction blocks the Ryan White Program verification requirements from being implemented until litigation is resolved.
