Over 5 years in the making of this lovely relationship with this man. ❤️
Hasn’t been easy!! We’ve grown so much together in communication skills, dealing with childhood wounds that OBVIOUSLY only come out in relationship, you know those direct triggers that just seem to be the exact ones that hurt the most. 😫
We’ve done a lot of growing, been bumpy but so worth it.
Through somatic practices, non violent communication classes (I highly recommend Oren Jay Sofer who also does Somatic Experiencing and Mindfulness, lots of books (like how to be with another HSP. (Hyper sensitive person) and children of traumatized parents who pass on trauma) we’ve managed to get this far…

Ah surfing. I’ve been thrown in the wash machine of a few unsuccessful rides and ended up being traumatized. I stopped trying to surf.

My son is here on vacation and he loves surfing, I so desired to be able to share this with him.

I used the method of titration in trauma therapy. Small steps, small waves and ending on a high note and not leaving with a wipe out. Touching on the gentler side of the trauma, not going into the heart of it immediately.

Each time I swim towards the wave, I feel my heart pounding and my fear wants me to just get the f*** out of there.

But I want to learn, I want to go beyond.

So I embrace this fear, my heart beating, my body trembling. I tell myself you can do it, you’re going to be fine, it’s ok and courageously watch the wave about to wash over me and I paddle as fast as I can.

The relief and the exhilaration when I feel the sensation of excitement in my body as I catch a wave with fear that still rides with me.

Fear and excitement have the same body sensations.

I learn to move forward with fear/excitement, gentle vigilance and curious understanding of this huge mama ocean.
What can she teach me.
Can we learn to dance together..?

Even drawing can reveal your deepest secrets if you know how to read it. 🔮With my client who is a professional artist, he had to let go of everything he knew about technique to let his emotions speak through his drawing. 📣
We focused on parts of the drawing that felt beautiful 🤩 and others that felt uncomfortable 🥴 to find out where and how those parts were located in his body. He was asked to move his body according to the emotion that those areas of the drawing provoked.
We revealed stories 📚and things that were stuck in his system that he was carrying but was unaware of.
Through movement we can reveal what our bodies are holding on to and through intentional movement let a new reality be written. ✍️

Notice the patterns of - with what and how-  do you curate your environment, your work, home and your life?
Create visual and mental spaces in your home that invoke feelings you desire to nurture. Eg. More spaces that are calming or appealing to the soul. Eg. Flowers, beautiful objects, etc. Eg. Workspaces that feel calming and focused.

Who you are is how you do everything.
 
Think of the person you are wanting to be more of and begin practicing that person in the little things you do.
Eg. How you arrange your food, what you prepare to eat, how you dress, how you start your day.
Do it as the person that is being revealed through you. Become the vibration of who you want to be in the little things in life.

I observe and just take it all in. It is. And that’s all it needs to be. I create a story of good or bad through my own ...
