This year’s Steed Silver Ford Award honors more than clinical excellence, but rather recognizes the quiet, steady leadership that lifts an entire profession.

We’re proud to announce Douglas DiRuggiero, PA-C as this year’s recipient. For 28 years in practice and 25 years in dermatology, Douglas has modeled what it means to be a collaborator: learning alongside physicians, speaking the same language at the bedside, and putting patients first through team-based care.

In his own words, dermatology is “where internal disease meets the surface and sometimes the psyche.” His commitment to becoming a prescriber of hope for patients and a mentor for the next generation of PAs and NPs embodies the spirit of this award!

This week showed beyond a doubt the strength of the Elevate-Derm Alliance and the dedication of our members to an innovative and powerful future for the field of dermatology.

To our Elevate-Derm community, thank you for the flights, the late-night slides, and the “I’ve been there too” moments. Thank you for trading stories, the hallway consults, the creativity in costumes, the pages of notes, and the brave case shares.
