✨Connections Across Generations✨

We kicked off the holiday season with a visit from our local high school and their preschool buddies today! We were serenaded with Christmas carols, made some crafts, and played a couple rounds of holiday bingo.

Cross generational activities benefit both seniors and children! Loved ones with dementia show an increase in positive engagement and mood while the children exhibit improved social development. Not to mention, it’s just a blast!

Thank you to the students and teachers for bringing holiday cheer to our community!

Happy Veterans Day! 🇺🇸🪖

Today we celebrated the veterans and spouses of veterans in our community. It was a day of history, remembrance, and gratitude. Our residents participated in a day full of patriotism and education. We began the day with a reflection and moment of silence, while our afternoon was full of trivia, games, and karaoke.

A big thank you to First Health Hospice for the treats and leading our morning reflection. And the biggest thanks of all goes to the veterans who have served our country!

Last month, Encore Bolingbrook took part in the Pink Pumpkin Challenge! Staff and residents teamed up to decorate a pumpkin for Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

This pumpkin will remain in our art room as a reminder that in this family, no one fights alone!

Say hello to our Resident of the Month for November, George! 🎯🇺🇸

George loves to spend time in the activity room with friends or relaxing in the TV room watching the news. He holds the high score in our Shooting Gallery game and is a force to be reckoned with when it comes to co****le. He is also a veteran and we thank him for his service!

Residents like George help make Encore feel like home. We're thrilled to name him Resident of the Month!

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month! 💕🎗️🩻

Did you know 1 in 8 women will develop invasive breast cancer? In the US alone, there are over 4 million survivors. Join us in showing them they don’t fight alone!

Staff participated in “Pink Friday” to show support and raise awareness, both in and out of our community. Be on the lookout for these shirts around town!
