Every client is a puzzle and massage does not suit everyone. It's not just about practicing manual therapy on a table using lotion on bare skin. In my practice, I have many ways to help people with their pain and tension.
This week I used visceral manipulation to release around the liver which helped my client raise her right arm overhead. Using functional assessments, I found compression in hips and backs that when released, gave my clients relief they had been struggling with for years.
In my clinic, it's not enough to just release whatever feels tense. To truly provide relief, I have to find out what needs to be released FIRST and then activate the movement or muscle that needs attention. Then, I give the client homework to help their body heal.
I love that every client is a puzzle. My work is fun and fulfilling. What do you need help with?

This week's theme seemed to be scars and their dysfunctional consequences on the body. Most people have scars. Whether it be from surgery, piercings, an injury or even a tattoo. Most people don't think about how those scars can affect the rest of their body. This week I found several scars that when released, led to a significant reduction in pain for my clients. Using NeuroKinetic Therapy, I often find scars that are causing pain or restriction-and sometimes those scars are years old! When released, pain reduction is immediate and lasting. This is changing people's lives.
