Here are just a few of some of the projects that we have tackled in the first year.
Why do we do projects like these?
They help fund the program but more importantly they teach several things as well. Things such as; work ethics, potential careers, appreciation of detail, a job well done, and helping others, working with others. One of the most important to me is being able to teach someone that even if they aren't an expert, even if they have never done it, even if it seems impossible, the first step to completion, the first step of learning, the first thought of believing in themselves, is to simply get started. A lot of tasks seem impossible to us because it is not what we are used to or comfortable with, the problem seems to big, or it's the only way we know.... A friend of mine told me this a few years ago and today I understand the concept. How do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time. If you try to swallow it whole it's not going to work. If you just start taking bites however, one day you will be there.

Something I have noticed over the years is addiction is an ugly word. I can see that, but most people recover quietly as well? No matter how good you thought you were hiding your addiction most people knew! The best way to help another person struggling is to show them there's a better life on the other side. So how do we do that?
