A True Hometown Practice

Did you know we are as hometown as hometown gets? Bolivar native Dr. Wes Kemp moved back to Bolivar after graduating from Optometry school to open his own practice, Kemp Family Eyecare. He opened his doors on East Broadway just off the square in September 1991. As his practice grew he moved to a new location on South Main just in front of our current location. In 2002, our current building at 325 South Main was built and the office made it’s final move. In 2005, Dr Kemp joined a group of like minded doctors across the country that called themselves Vision Source. In 2010, Dr. Laura Montgomery, a Bolivar native and childhood patient of Dr. Kemp, joined him in his practice. In December of 2014, Dr. Kemp sold his practice to Dr. Montgomery. In 2015 the name was changed from Kemp Family Eyecare, a member of Vision Source to Vision Source Bolivar. Dr. Erin Genua, a Springfield native and Optometry school classmate of Dr. Montgomery, joined the practice in 2016.
