Cemetery stories topic of genealogy meeting

It’s been said that you die twice – once when the physical death happens and again the last time your name is spoken. At the October 2 meeting of the Polk County Genealogical Society, attendees will watch a video of a story found after visiting a cemetery, finding a gravestone and the adventure that follows as the person’s story is discovered. Their name is spoken once again and their story told. Join us to hear stories found in cemeteries.

This is the month we take our annual group member photo. Please plan on being here by 6:45 to join everyone on the front steps for a photo. The meeting will begin immediately after the photo is taken. A short business meeting and our favorite trivia quiz will precede the video.

The meeting is open to the public.

Ritter has spoken several times at the Society’s meetings and is always welcomed, and enjoyed, by a large group. You can visit Ritter’s website at timritter.net to find out more about him and the programs and books he has written. The meeting will be held at the PCGS Research Facility on the southeast corner of the square beginning at 7:00 with a short business meeting. The meeting is open to the public.
