Dr. James Bice, a geriatrician from Australia who specializes in dementia care, stopped in Bolivar last week to meet with Dr. Curtis Schreiber and the teams at Missouri Memory Center and CMH Research. Australia has recently approved Kisunla and Leqembi infusion therapy for early stages of Alzheimer's Disease for individuals who have elevated amyloid plaques. Dr. Bice traveled to select sites across the United States to learn more about infusion processes choosing CMH as one of his stops.

During his visit, Dr. Bice spent time in clinic with Dr. Schreiber, connected with our research team, met with our infusion and pharmacy departments and toured the new hospital tower.

Dr. Bice and Dr. Schreiber first connected at the Alzheimer’s Association International Conference in Toronto and have continued collaborating through additional conferences in Australia.

We’re honored to be part of this important international exchange as we continue advancing Alzheimer's care.

Curtis P. Schreiber, M.D., a board-certified neurologist and dementia specialist with the Missouri Memory Center at Citizens Memorial Hospital, recently presented national Alzheimer’s research at the Clinical Trials in Alzheimer’s Disease (CTAD) conference in San Diego.

Dr. Schreiber shared results from the LEADER study, which showed that more than 84% of patients treated with the FDA-approved medication Leqembi remained stable, and some improved, during just over one year. CMH was also a top enrolling site in a national study on new blood tests that help diagnose Alzheimer’s earlier and more accurately.
