Scott Allen Barnett, age 59, was born on July 29, 1966, in Caruthersville, Missouri, to Geneva Starns and the late Marvin Barnett. He unexpectedly passed away at his home in Adamsville, Tennessee, on April 4, 2026.
Scott was a man who found joy in life’s simple pleasures. He loved working in his yard, spending time fishing, and admiring old cars. His faith was rooted in the Pentecostal belief, which guided him throughout his life.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 15 years, Angela Banks Barnett; his mother Geneva Barnett ; his sons, Scotty Barnett, David Bates (Tammy), and Allan Bates; his daughters, Sophia Sparks, Holly Myers, and Andrea Bermudez; his brothers, Herman Barnett and Marvin Barnett; and his sisters, Lisa Barnett, Kathy Cook, Geneva Stevens, and Terrie Barnett. Scott also leaves behind nine cherished grandchildren who will continue to carry his memory forward.
He was preceded in death by his father, Marvin Barnett; his brothers, Billy Barnett and Melvin Barnett; and his mother-in-law, Shirley Ann Banks.
Burial will take place at Mt. Hermon Cemetery in Savannah, Tennessee. Services are entrusted to Henderson County Funeral Services in Lexington, Tennessee.
Scott will be remembered for his love of family, his quiet strength, and the simple joys that brought him happiness.
