I have always had a desire and love for caring for others. I have done this in many ways over the years. I started as a personal care assistant, where I met my husband Justin Cleveland. I knew from the start that I would be in the family, I just didn’t know how.

Justin and I were married October 19, 2002. I went from his caretaker to his wife and couldn’t be more ecstatic. We soon started our own family having Jaren in 2003 and Jaydon 2006. In the midst of that I had thought of being a Massage Therapist, but with starting a family and taking care of Justin it just didn’t seem the right time. Later in 2014 I went on to further my education as a CNA and thought I was set on where I was to be in life. God had other plans for me though, because in 2018 out of the blue I started thinking of going back to school to become a Massage Therapist again. We had one problem, we had been talking for months about getting a new wheelchair accessible van. We didn’t have enough money saved to do both. We prayed about it and the more we talked the more school looked like a better option at the time. With Jaren going into 8th grade and Jaydon going to 6th grade, I was going to be going back to school myself. Justin was my rock and encouragement throughout school, helping me read over reports I had to give, study for test and quizzes, even the little things like ordering groceries online so I could pick them up on the way home and making sure the boys did their homework and helped cook supper so we would be ready to eat when I was back from school. I got to my business class and we both were excited as we came up with my own business name and what I would do when I graduated and was on my own. Justin was going to be my IT guy and help with Facebook, website, any marketing to get my name out and even talked of working at the front desk to take payments and book appointments for me. We were starting our own business together and it was a lot of fun setting up with him and going over plans for the future. Funny thing about plans for the future is that God may not always be on the time schedule you plan to be on. I had my graduation day from WellSpring School of Allied Health on July 1st and we were excited as the day came and went and the future just around the corner. As I said God’s time isn’t ours, as I was finishing my classes and just a few days left Justin ended up needing to go to the ER at Cox South. From July 16 to the end of the month I was back and forth between school, work and being with Justin at the hospital. All was looking fine and we were going home, but that didn’t last too long, a couple days later we were back again at NTICU until the day he passed away, August 20, 2019. I knew Justin wouldn’t want me to give up on our dreams and would want me to continue with our plan of starting our own business, Kare4Massage, so I went back to finish and take my state MBLEx test in October (too soon), which I failed. After talking with my instructors at school I filled out a provisional application that would allow me to work as a Massage Therapist until I passed my state MBLEx test. I got everything started business wise and was able to start doing mobile massage on January 1, 2020. I found a booth I could rent from at Etch Salon in Bolivar, MO and had my first day there on February 19th. On February 20th I went and took my state MBLEx test for a second time and passed!!!!! As the days go on I still think of Justin and how he wanted me to succeed and I’m going to continue pushing on in the days and months to come. God has a plan for my life, at this point I may be a single widowed mother caring for 2 growing boys, trying to grow my business, but I’m growing my boys and business for the Glory of God. This isn’t my business, this is God’s business, my children aren’t mine, God gave them to Justin and I to care for and train them to chase after Him. My story in short is that, Kare4Massage, will be run for the Glory of God, not man.
