Protect your eyes! Never stare directly at the sun, even for a partial eclipse! According to the American Academy of Ophthalmology, you must wear SPECIAL EYE PROTECTION (sunglasses are NOT enough) to directly observe the sun, during a partial eclipse or any other time.

Looking at the sun without the right eye protection can permanently damage your retina. The only way to safely view the eclipse is with special solar filters (eclipse glasses) or hand-held solar viewers. Make sure your eclipse glasses are certified and say ISO 12312-2.

Today is American Diabetes Alert Day (March 26). The American Diabetes Association observes it annually on the fourth Tuesday in March. This day is a "way-up call" that focuses on the seriousness of diabetes and the importance of understanding your risk.

Did you know that 38.4 million Americans—or about 11.6% of the U.S. population—have diabetes? Did you know that 8.7 million Americans are unaware that they have diabetes? More than 8 in 10 adults living with prediabetes don’t know they have it.

The sooner you know if you’re at risk, the sooner you can take steps to prevent or manage diabetes. If you have a family history of diabetes, are overweight, or are not physically active, you have a greater chance of developing type 2 diabetes. You are also more likely to develop type 2 diabetes as you get older.

All adults age 35 or older should get tested for diabetes and prediabetes. Take the Diabetes Risk Test at https://diabetes.org/diabetes-risk-test and schedule a check-up with your primary care provider.
