💙 Happy Social Services Month! 💙Part 2: Danie
This month, we want to celebrate the amazing ladies who work in our Social Services office! Their dedication, compassion, and hard work make a huge difference in the lives of our residents and families every day.
To honor them, we asked a few questions about their roles, inspirations, and favorite parts of their jobs — and we can’t wait to share their answers with you!
Thank you to our Social Services team for all that you do — we appreciate you today and every day! 💛
What inspired you to work as a Financial Counselor?
I’ve always liked helping people feel a little less stressed, especially when it comes to money—which can be overwhelming for a lot of people. Being a financial counselor felt like the perfect way to help people understand their options, feel more in control, and know they’re not alone in figuring things out. I also really value being a voice for those who may not feel comfortable speaking up or advocating for themselves when it comes to finances.
What is the most rewarding part of your job?
Seeing that sense of relief when things start to make sense for someone. Whether it’s helping a family understand coverage, setting up a plan, or just answering questions, those “okay, I feel better now” moments are everything. It’s not just about numbers—it’s about helping people feel supported during what can be a really stressful time.
What is something people may not realize about what you do each day?
A little bit of everything There’s a lot of behind-the-scenes work—coordinating benefits, working through paperwork, making calls, and problem-solving—but also a lot of one-on-one time helping people understand their situation. We’re constantly advocating, explaining, and trying to find the best possible solutions, all while making things as simple and stress-free as we can.
Helping make sense of the numbers—so families and resident’s can focus on what matters most.
