Citizens Memorial Hospital Patient Tower Opening and Department Moves

Several departments and services will begin operating in the new CMH patient tower on a staggered schedule in March and April. Some entrances and check-in locations are changing.

Here are a few key updates:
• The former main entrance is now the West Entrance
• The new tower entrance is the Main Entrance
• Cafeteria, DJBean Coffee Bar and Gift Garden are now open in the tower
• The cafeteria’s Sunday buffet returns March 29
• Main Entrance doors in the tower are temporarily closed through March 30 (use the door to the right)
• Starting March 30, the information desk and patient registration open in the tower
• New Emergency Department opens April 15
• The Birth Place moves April 19
• ICU moves April 25
• Medical Surgical Unit moves April 26

Daylight Saving Time begins Sunday, March 8 at 2 a.m., so don’t forget to move your clocks ahead one hour before going to bed.

Losing an hour of sleep isn’t always fun, but the reward is more daylight in the evenings.

While you’re adjusting your clocks, it’s also a good reminder to check or replace the batteries in your smoke detectors.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for the CMH Pediatric Rehabilitation Clinic ribbon-cutting ceremony and open house today. The clinic relocated from Citizens Memorial Hospital and opened at its current location at 2520 S. Springfield Ave. in September 2025. The new space is designed to support children and families in a welcoming child-focused environment.

We were honored to welcome some very special guests to our new hospital tower yesterday afternoon, March 1!

Residents from our six long-term care facilities and Butterfield Residential Care Center had the opportunity to tour the new hospital tower at Citizens Memorial Hospital.

Seeing their smiles as they explored the new space made the day even more meaningful. We’re so grateful they were able to experience the new tower firsthand and be part of this exciting milestone.
