Spring Cleaning Ayurvedic Checklist:

1. Ayurvedic Detox Plan: Consider starting with an Ayurvedic detox plan to rid the body of accumulated toxins from the winter season. Our cleanse starts this week. Message me for more info!

2. Dietary Cleansing: Transition to lighter, easily digestible foods. Incorporate seasonal fruits, vegetables, and herbs into your diet to support detoxification.

3. Hydration: Increase water intake to flush out toxins and rehydrate the body. Opt for warm water to kickstart the digestive system.

4. Herbal Support: Introduce Ayurvedic herbs and spices known for their detoxifying properties, such as triphala, turmeric, and ginger.

5. Daily Routine (Dinacharya): Revisit your daily routine to align with the changing season. Include practices like tongue scraping, oil pulling, and dry brushing to stimulate detoxification pathways.

6. Yoga and Exercise: Incorporate yoga poses and exercises that promote circulation, flexibility, and lymphatic drainage. Focus on poses that stimulate digestion and detoxification, such as twists and inversions.

7. Mindful Meditation: Dedicate time for mindfulness meditation to cleanse the mind of accumulated stress and mental clutter. Focus on deep breathing and visualization techniques.

8. Decluttering: Clear out physical clutter from your living space to create a sense of lightness and clarity. Donate or recycle items you no longer need or use.

9. Sleep Hygiene: Prioritize restful sleep by maintaining a consistent sleep schedule and creating a calming bedtime routine. Consider using relaxing essential oils like lavender or chamomile.

10. Abhyanga (Self-Massage): Practice self-massage with warm Ayurvedic oils to nourish the skin, release tension, and stimulate the lymphatic system.

Tomorrow we spring our clocks forward an hour, essentially taking away an hour of morning light and adding an hour of evening light.

I am not a huge fan of the time change, I am an advocate for just sticking with standard time! It usually takes me a week to adjust to the change here are some things I do to ease the transition:

🕰Limit Caffeine: Reduce your intake of caffeine, especially in the afternoon and evening, to improve the quality of your sleep.

🕰Establish a Relaxing Bedtime Routine: Create a calming pre-sleep routine to signal to your body that it's time to wind down.

🕰Regular Exercise: Engage in regular physical activity, but try to avoid intense workouts close to bedtime. Exercise can help regulate your sleep patterns and improve overall sleep quality.

🕰Mindfulness and Relaxation Techniques: Practice mindfulness or relaxation techniques such as meditation or deep breathing to reduce stress and promote a sense of calm before bedtime.

🕰Limit Screen Time: Reduce exposure to screens at least an hour before bedtime.

🕰Consistent Meal Times: Maintain regular meal times, and avoid heavy or spicy meals close to bedtime. A consistent eating schedule can help regulate your body's internal clock.

Adding Hing to beans can be beneficial for several reasons, both culinary and in terms of digestive health:

🌿Reducing Gas and Bloating: Beans are known for their high fiber content, which can sometimes lead to gas and bloating. Hing has carminative properties, meaning it helps alleviate gas and reduces flatulence.
