Do you hold this common misconception about trauma?

Thinking that “trauma” referes to the experience you went through — when really trauma is what you hold onto in your body as a result of the experience ⁣

It’s the 𝐥𝐞𝐟𝐭 𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫 MENTAL and PHYSICAL elements of an emotionally disturbing experience ⁣

It’s all those feelings that were never fully recognized or processed properly ⁣

Notice that I mentioned both 𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐥 and 𝐩𝐡𝐲𝐬𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 — that’s because we experience two very dominant reactions in these intense moments ⁣

I know that our society is coming around to accepting this fact, and we see it everyday as talk therapy heals so many! ⁣

But many of us still lack healing on a 𝘱𝘩𝘺𝘴𝘪𝘤𝘢𝘭 𝘭𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘭 ⁣

Talk Therapy and Body/Energy Work are sister healers 👯‍♀️ they perform best in tandem ⁣

All those labels are making you depressed ⁣

And anxious ⁣

And lost ⁣

This is a truth that I’ve been trying to navigate for quite some time ⁣

A major part of the human experience is putting ourselves into boxes and categories — why? Because it’s makes things easier ⁣

But what they don’t tell you is that this habit creates such emotional distress ⁣

It creates a feeling of loss — a never fulfilled hunger to perfect your label⁣

Or a feeling of being stuck or tied down to the boxes you’ve put yourself in ⁣

And to a degree, we need these labels — they 𝘥𝘰 make things easier ⁣

But let’s not confuse them for who we are⁣

Let’s not allow them to control us⁣

Make it a point to approach the world through he lens of your true essence ⁣

And so I ask you… who are YOU without all those labels?

So… what does heal wounds?

movement ⁣
talking⁣
crying⁣
breathing⁣
screaming⁣
laughing ⁣
playing⁣
gratitude⁣
forgiveness ⁣
acceptance ⁣
self-discovery⁣
re-programming⁣
turning inward and expanding outward⁣

THAT is what heals all wounds... and to be honest, some wounds may never fully heal⁣

Some wounds are meant to move you, shift you, become part of you and allow you to evolve⁣

But they aren't meant to be ignored ⁣

I have always hated the saying that ‘time heals all wounds’ because it gives the illusion that we are supposed to just keep going throughout our days as we normally would... and eventually our wounds would be healed ⁣

I tried that. I promise you it doesn't work.⁣

We need to lean into our emotions, share them, move with them, confront them, find outlets to express them⁣

But whatever you do, however you choose to heal -- just please 𝐝𝐨𝐧'𝐭 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐬𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐦 ⁣

The leading behavior in the world of self-sabotaging is…. (drum roll pls)⁣

✨Emotional Supression✨⁣

And we’ve been taught to glorify tf out of this habit ⁣

Ever since we were little, we’ve been programmed to believe that if you are emotionally strong you could survive anything ⁣

And so, we hold things in ⁣

We deem our emotions to be a burden, and decide that they aren’t worth sharing ⁣

We swallow our words, push our thoughts away, and tighten up our body to make sure nothing slips through in gesture ⁣

“I’m fine” ⁣

You harm yourself every time you say that when it isn’t true⁣

Sure, after a few hours or a couple days, you start to believe that you really are fine ⁣

But what we’re learning now is how damaging this behavior actually is, especially in the long run ⁣

When you suppress your emotions you are…⁣

- Agreeing that your needs aren’t important⁣
- Shaming yourself for your perspective ⁣
- Portraying a false version of YOU ⁣

When you suppress your emotions you are self-sabotaging ⁣

And no amount of meditation or affirmations can reverse this⁣

It’s time to 𝐛𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐤 𝐟𝐫𝐞𝐞 of this conditioning ⁣

👉🏼 If you aren’t ready to start verbally sharing your emotions — get a journal that is designated to your feelings and beliefs, make it an outlet for self expression, and notice how much better you feel after each use ⁣

ENERGY HEALING IS BASED ON SCIENTIFIC FACT 🙊 ⁣

Before you write this off as a bunch of BS.... know that there is an entire scientific field conducting research that backs these healing practices⁣

Energy Psychology is the study of energy healing modalities - and there are hundreds of RCTs (randomized control trials) loaded with evidence that shows how legitimate they are ⁣

I have such a split brain -- I love both science and spirituality, and I stand behind the fact that they can be used in combination for profound healing ⁣

You were likely raised to trust the science, and follow the healing practices that were developed with scientific research backing it up -- so was I⁣

But I was also raised to trust what you cannot see, and to look for alternative options and answers when necessary ⁣

My dad pushed the science, and my mom pushed the spirit ⁣

So I can empathize with you, because it's comforting to have a balance of both⁣

If you lean toward the science world, but you're starting to dip your toes into what isn't so obvious to the naked eye -- 𝘬𝘦𝘦𝘱 𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘥𝘪𝘯𝘨⁣

👉🏼 Everything in this universe is composed of molecules that are vibrating at various frequencies. The molecules located within our bodies are constantly vibrating and radiating positive or negative, balanced or unbalanced, opened or closed frequencies⁣

👉🏼 When our organs are misaligned energetically and radiating a low vibrational frequency (or become blocked altogether), it can manifest into mental, emotional, or physical ailments⁣

Relax your shoulders ⁣

Unclench your jaw ⁣

Soften your tongue ⁣

Take a deep breath in ⁣

As you exhale, release any tension or tightness in your body⁣

Take another deep breath in⁣

As you exhale, close your eyes and turn inward⁣

Give yourself an internal body scan⁣

Starting from the crown of your head ⁣

Move down through the body⁣

Finishing at your toes⁣

Move slowly, and with each step of the way ask yourself.. ⁣

“how does this feel?” ⁣
“how do I feel?”⁣
“am I noticing any sensations arising?”⁣

Remind yourself…⁣

“I am safe”⁣
“I am secure”⁣
“I am grounded”⁣

Wth is Energy Healing, anyway??

I’m sure you’ve heard this term before, likely 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩𝘰𝘶𝘵 a clear explanation as to 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 it is and 𝐰𝐡𝐨 it’s for -- so let me simplify it for you⁣

On the most basic level, Energy Healing restores the balance and flow of energy in the body, mind, and spirit⁣

To break it down a little more… energy can become stuck in the body -- this is almost always the result of unprocessed emotions (emotions = energy in motion)⁣

When we fail to, or are unable to, access and process emotions fully, they become repressed, stuck, and they harden inside the body ⁣

They create a block in your energetic flow, which feels suuuper uncomfy ⁣

That stuck energy can result in a boat load of different symptoms: depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, mental or physical exhaustion, a lack of passion/purpose/drive, problems with digestion, physical illness, headaches, aches + pains…..⁣

Just to name a few⁣

The symptoms will depend on 𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 the block lies in the body, which stems from the emotional experience that went unprocessed⁣

An Energy Healer is trained to guide you in safely accessing the stuck energy and show you how to move it through the body, so that it’s once again flowing freely⁣

Today, there are so many forms of Energy Work - which one you choose will depend on your needs and what aligns with your beliefs ⁣

This practice has been passed around and around in various contexts, and because of that, it’s being seen as either the answer to most suffering or a bunch of BS⁣

I want to assure you that, if done correctly and applied to the right condition, energy work can be a beautiful form of healing⁣

It’s changed the lives of many individual’s, myself included⁣

You have rocks inside you -- and they’re holding you back from your TRUE SELF ⁣

You see, each year as you learn, grow, and change, you gather parts of the world around you and add them to your own inner universe -- blending everything together and allowing yourself to create beliefs and habits based off of what wasn’t necessarily yours to begin with⁣

Now, to some degree, this is perfectly ok. It’s important to learn new skills and it’s fun to treat yourself from time to time⁣

But when you begin to collect, gather, and add, add, add in order to find your true self — and realize it’s not working; it’s time to change your game plan ⁣

Instead of layering on new ways to level up -- take a look at where you are now, and see what you can 𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐯𝐞⁣

Start to chip away at the rocks that you’ve collected and built over time⁣

See which — ⁣

🔹 THOUGHT PATTERNS you can SHIFT ⁣
🔹 LIMITING BELIEFS you can REWRITE⁣
🔹 ATTACHMENTS you can LET GO OF ⁣

Not sure if your past self needs healing? Become aware of what triggers you 🤯⁣

Becoming aware of your triggers is the doorway to the healing process⁣

A reflection on your 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 and 𝐝𝐞𝐟𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐞𝐬 will show you which parts of yourself are wounded. When we recognize and acknowledge that our impulsive behaviors are not aligned with how we hope to show up, and who we want to become, we can start the healing process ⁣

The next time you are quick to react to a situation, and it doesn't settle well with you ⁣

Or when you throw your guard up to protect yourself ⁣

Acknowledge that these are your shadow parts which developed from wounds you received in previous years ⁣

Be gentle with your shadows ⁣
Ask them questions ⁣
Show them love and compassion⁣

HOW DO I SPEAK TO MY INNER CHILD?⁣

It’s up to you to heal from previous experiences⁣

Heal the old wounds and clear your slate so you can rewrite your story ⁣

Make sure that you’re speaking to your inner child in a way that will allow her to gain trust and find peace to move forward ⁣

Try this visualization either alone or with the support of a trusted space holder... 💭⁣

🔹 Close your eyes and connect to your breath, start with 5 deep inhales and exhales⁣
🔹 Tune into the younger version of yourself. The one that experienced pain or unhealthy conditioning ⁣
🔹 Envision your young self standing in front of you⁣
🔹 What does she look like? What is her body language? How does she feel?⁣
🔹 Reach out and hold her hand ⁣
🔹 Offer her love and compassion, remind her that she is safe, worthy, and supported ⁣
🔹 Speak these words out loud...⁣

"You are loved"⁣
"You are safe"⁣
"You are worthy"⁣
"You are supported"⁣
"It is not your fault"⁣
"Your feelings are valid"⁣

Make this a regular practice in your life. When the hurt and pain from unresolved experiences begins to seep through the cracks, recognize that it is your inner child coming through, and offer her the love and compassion that she deserves in order to heal

I had to heal my wounds so I could rise up⁣

And since your goal is to be the best, highest version of yourself — then you need to do the same ⁣

On your journey to self actualization you may find yourself getting stuck ⁣

Experiencing setbacks, or hitting a plateau

When we start this journey, most of us don’t realize that we can do alllll the work that is relevant to our 𝐜𝐮𝐫𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐟 – but in order to ascend to our 𝐟𝐮𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐟, we must go back and heal our 𝐩𝐚𝐬𝐭 𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐟⁣

Everyone has emotional blocks that need to be addressed and released⁣

Emotional blocks will lead to energetic blocks -- so the longer you hold onto these old wounds, the more they will begin to manifest in other ways⁣

> physical illness⁣
> disconnection from purpose
> toxic relationships⁣
> and more

For most of my life I never felt comfortable addressing my emotions. I was conditioned to be a strong person who doesn’t get upset in front of others, and I made that part of my identity⁣

I bet you can relate ⁣

When I found myself in a dark, dead end place I spent a lot of time meditating — and that’s when it became crystal freakin clear⁣

✨ YOU CAN’T BECOME YOUR HIGHEST SELF WITHOUT HEALING YOUR LOWEST SELF⁣ ✨

It wasn’t enough to do the relevant work, I needed to go back and do the old work. I needed to address my younger self, my inner child. I needed to offer her compassion and love and allow her to rewrite her story – recondition her beliefs⁣

I needed to let her release the emotions that she swallowed for so many years⁣

If you’re ready to rise up, it’s time for you to do the same ⁣

To the self-healers who are on their path to discover their highest self – make sure not to leave your past, wounded, self behind ⁣

2 STEPS TO ENERGETIC ALIGNMENT⁣

For decades we’ve been conditioned to fix our problems through external resources⁣

When we’re in a dark place or experiencing one sh*tty thing after another it’s so easy to turn to something outside of ourselves for a quick fix – hoping that this is what will heal us once and for all, right? ⁣

Us humans LOVE our medications, expensive gadgets, tropical vacations, other individuals⁣

But we’ve been shifting into an era where this way of healing will no longer serve you. It just won’t be enough. And if you’re tired of the struggle and exhaustion train — it’s time to accept this shift, and choose another route ⁣

The disconnection here, what many people aren’t able to see, is that most of our suffering is actually caused by an energetic imbalance – the truth is that most humans are out of alignment, and it is up to you to heal yourself⁣

I know, I know you’re probably tired of hearing all these lightworkers say “the answers are within you, you have everything you need to heal yourself” ya da ya da – but they say it because it’s 🙌🏻 THE TRUTH 🙌🏻⁣

But it’s easier said than done, especially if you’re new to this, you may be thinking “wth is that supposed to mean, I have it within me??” ⁣

So I want share 2 simple steps that you can use to begin your own energy healing...⁣

1st — Become crystal clear on what you want in this life. ⁣

Who do you want to be? How do you want to show up? What is your mission, your purpose, your goal in this lifetime?⁣

(close your eyes and truly imagine this version of you, even if it feels years away from your current self, because it might be – but who you see there 𝐢𝐬 your highest self)⁣

2nd — With everything decision and choice and opportunity that comes your way – big or small – ask yourself, will this bring me further away or closer to that highest version of me? Always choose the option that brings you closer.⁣

Choosing the latter is choosing to follow your truest path in life, it will guide you back into alignment with yourself⁣

It will guide you into clarity and flow, and to who you are innately designed to be ✨
