We then talk about how to relax and breathe into your stomach, also called diaphragmatic or abdominal breathing. Breathing into your stomach engages the diaphragm and helps maximize the amount of oxygen entering the lungs. This type of breathing promotes relaxation, reduces stress, and enhances overall lung capacity. It can also activate the body’s relaxation response, leading to a sense of calm. I’ve been enjoying these slow, snowy days. Taking time to rest, eat well, and spend time with my family and dogs. Walking my dog, Oakley, in the snow brings her so much joy.
