on Twitter tweeted today that he was NOT going to help normalize obesity. I personally made that decision 4½ yrs ago in 07/18. The picture on the right is from 06/18. The picture on the left is from today. I was 325lbs, prediabetic, hypertensive and a BF of +38% at 48yrs old.
Today, I vary between 240 and 250lbs. I'm just above 20%BF on my way to a sub 20% number. I did this because I had a Dr who gave me 2 options. Either be on insulin and other prescriptions the rest of my life or switch to a lifestyle. I decided to reverse my course.
Because I had a Dr who thought outside the box, I lost over 100lbs of fat and got down to 220lbs. Then I found men and women online like Vinnie Tortorich Ken D Berry, MD and Nina Teicholz who not only validated this nutritional lifestyle they encouraged it.
Today, even though I work 45-50hrs a week driving truck in the area, I find the time to workout 6-9hrs a week. I maintain 2 memberships, one to my local Orangetheory Fitness studio and another to a weightlifting studio, Alpha Barbell. I have learned to appreciate this new lifestyle.
As a matter of fact, I credit this lifestyle with saving my life twice. Once from the risk of type 2 diabetes and the other from covid. In 02/20 I'm sure I had the vid. God only knows how adversely effected I would have been if had had still been morbidly obese.
Now I'm 51 going on 52 in February. I'm healthier now than I have been in 15yrs. If I can change at my age, I know damn well you can too. Choosing the proper nutrition isn't a left or right thing or a race thing. It is the MORAL thing to do for yourself and your family.
