A full-service equine sports medicine, rehabilitation & conditioning center with veterinarian supervision on 500 acres in southern California.

Nestled on 500 acres of rolling hills in southern California sits the only full-service, veterinarian operated, equine sports medicine, rehabilitation & conditioning center of its kind. It is ideally located just steps away from the San Luis Rey Downs Training Center & San Luis Rey Equine Hospital, and in close proximity to Santa Anita Racetrack, Los Alamitos Racetrack, Galway Downs, and the Del Mar Thoroughbred Club & Racetrack. A place where innovative treatments, under veterinary guidance, are proven to enhance recovery from injuries, support post-operative care, as well as strengthen the cross-training methods of the equine athlete. Trifecta's team provides support to you and your horses by addressing sports medicine, regenerative medicine, strength & conditioning, and rehabilitation requirements. Special attention is also given to biomechanics, nutrition, and enhanced performance technology. Trifecta distinguishes itself from other rehabilitation centers in that it provides the equine athlete with resources that emphasize recovery and performance enhancement with continual veterinary support.

Must be able to work weekends, set schedules, 8am-5pm

Main duties are: handwalking horses, bathing, grooming, turnouts

Ideal candidate:
- Has strong horsemanship skills; is able to handle horses with wide variety of behaviors and temperaments with confidence
- Is RELIABLE, with strong work ethics, and with reliable transportation
- Can multitask and "think ahead" in a fast paced, busy environment
- Can work with minimal directions and is a team player, with positive attitude

Located in north San Diego county, we are seeking a full time groom who has competency and confidence in handling and grooming high caliber race and/or sport horses. We are a full service athletic center who aides in the rehabilitation and conditioning of horses, primarily race horses. Looking to expand our team with someone who shows mastery in the following:

Duties include:

Assist in daily grooming sessions with light daily grooming, bathing, light clipping and mane pulling.

Hand walk horses as prescribed in their rehabilitation program.

Assist in therapies such as vibration plate, range of motion exercises and eurociser.

Assist in turnout, feeding and blanketing.

As part of a team, work together daily on laundry and general cleanliness to keep the barn(s) tidy and organized.

Be an integral part of the team and work closely with other staff as needed for patient care.

Provide excellent communication with team.

Perform other duties as assigned.

An update for Mystic Kid's fan club...for those that know him, how spot on is this? Clearly doing great in his new home.

"He continues to suffer from his distorted sense of self entitlement, but he has started to make better choices and is learning that not always satisfying his ornery streak urges has benefits - he is, and will always be, the horse that has made me have to be better - I don’t really think he will ever settle down, but he has made me ‘settle down’ - he’s teaching me how to be with him and to respect him (in his way) and I’m very pleased with how we are getting along. He is a very special horse - I used to characterize his as ‘difficult’, but the I heard Ashley refer to Kid as a “Child Dragon’ and that really resonated - his Child Dragon is still intact.

Kid got a companion that he gets along with and they enjoy turn out time together. Kid, having an opportunity to engage with another horse who doesn’t challenge him, doesn’t allow himself to be abused either, has been so wonderful to watch. They live adjacent to each other and for a couple months they just started putting off a vibe that they wanted to be together. When Kids shoes came off I figured it was a good opportunity to introduce them as play mates - they worked things out in a civilized way and they are getting along beautifully - I’m really happy for Kid that I was able to find such a perfect companion for him."
