Meet Iowa Supreme Court Justice David May, one of the four justices who ruled to lift the injunction on the state's near-total abortion ban.

Justice May was appointed by Gov. Reynolds in July 2022, replacing former Justice Brent Appel. His appointment rounded out the state's current Supreme Court, entirely chosen by Republican governors.

Other than his ruling on the abortion ban, Justice May's recent work includes authoring the majority opinion for a court case that now requires children to testify against alleged abusers in-person.
