10th Annual Mike Scheuermann Memorial Golf Tournament Recap

After a rain delay, we were blessed with a beautiful day on Thursday, August 21 at Cedar Pointe Golf Course for our rescheduled tournament.

Breakfast was provided by B*H Dietary, featuring breakfast burritos, cinnamon rolls, and scones. Lunch was generously sponsored by VisionBank, with a special thank-you to Renee for delivering brats to golfers across the course. Saints Avenue capped off the day with a delicious chicken dinner.

Our hole and putting contests added to the fun and excitement throughout the day. Congratulations to the Jordan Mahoney team, who took home the win as our overall champions with an impressive score of 54.

This year, we had 142 golfers able to make the rescheduled date—an outstanding turnout.

A special thank-you goes to our B*H Engineering Department, to Cedar Pointe Golf Course for hosting us, VisionBank for donating lunch, and all of our volunteers!

The support of our volunteers, sponsors, and Mike’s friends and family made the day especially meaningful. Your commitment and generosity continue to make this event a true celebration of community and remembrance.

Mike Scheuermann Memorial Golf Tournament POSTPONED

Unfortunately, due to 1.4 inches of rainfall overnight, we are unable to move forward with today’s tournament at Cedar Pointe. The course conditions will not allow for play, and we will be postponing the 10th Annual Mike Scheuermann Memorial Golf Tournament.

We do intend to reschedule the event, but a makeup date has not been decided at this time. We will follow up with additional details when a new date is confirmed.

Thank you for your understanding and continued support. We were so looking forward to seeing you all today and will be in touch soon with next steps.

Mike Scheuermann Memorial Golf Tournament WEATHER UPDATE

We know many of you are watching the weather closely, and so are we.

The Cedar Pointe team is doing everything they can to prepare the course and help our tournament move forward as planned. However, if we receive half an inch or more of rain overnight, we will not be able to hold the tournament as scheduled.

We’re in close communication with the course and will receive an update from them by 5:30 AM tomorrow morning. Based on that information, we will email you by 6:00 AM to confirm whether we’re a go or if we need to postpone.

We appreciate your understanding and flexibility as we work with the weather and the course staff to make the best decision for everyone involved.

The 16th Annual Trestle Hustle took place on Saturday, June 21, 2025, at the High Trestle Trail in Madrid. With 167 participants—our biggest turnout ever!—athletes came from all across Iowa and beyond, including Nebraska, Arizona, Ohio, Wisconsin, and Maryland, as well as several virtual racers who completed their events from home.

Despite hot and windy conditions, participants in the 5K, 10K, and Duathlon (run, bike, run) pushed through with determination and grit. The event once again served as the kickoff to High Trestle Fest, celebrating the communities along the High Trestle Trail.

The overall winners were:
* Duathlon (Male): Mark Creger
* Duathlon (Female): Aryn McLaren
* Duathlon (Relay): The Speedy Sernetts
* 5K (Male): Chris Stevenson
* 5K (Female): Susan Short
* 10K (Male): Yomma Quingyow
* 10K (Female): Elizabeth Kraayenbrink

All finishers received a medal, running socks, and trail mix donated by the B*H Auxiliary. Refreshments were provided by Keurig Dr Pepper and Culligan.

A heartfelt thank you goes out to the many volunteers who made the day run smoothly—from packet pickup and check-in to water stations and route support. Special thanks to the B*H Engineering Department, B*H Ambulance, Boone County Sheriff’s Department, Madrid Police, and Boone County Conservation for ensuring a safe and successful event.
And of course, thank you to all the athletes who showed up and gave it their all.
