Animal Emergency Clinic of the High Country 24/7 Emergency Veterinary Clinic Serving the High Country of North Carolina
(218)

The Animal Emergency Clinic of the High Country, PLLC was established by Dr. David Linzey and his wife, Debi, in 2005. Our goal has remained the same: providing quality after-hours emergency veterinary care to the residents of the North Carolina High Country and surrounding areas. Until that time, local veterinarians participated in a rotational schedule where different doctors were on-call various different nights and weekends. The opening of our practice provided a service to area pet owners not previously available: highly-trained and skilled veterinarians and technicians whose sole responsibility and focus is to provide emergency care for sick and injured pets until their regular veterinarian can take over care at the appropriate time.

๐ŸŽ‰ PAW-SOME NEWS! One of Our Vet Assistants Is Vet School Bound!๐ŸŽ‰

We are thrilled to announce that Olivia Bryson, one of our outstanding Veterinary Assistants, has been accepted into Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in St. Kitts & Nevisโ€”and she will be starting her veterinary school journey very soon!

A native of Lenoir, North Carolina, Olivia earned her Bachelorโ€™s degree in Biology with a minor in Animal Science from North Carolina State University. Ross University offers a rigorous, accelerated veterinary program with hands-on clinical training and global learning opportunities, making it an incredible place for Olivia to grow and pursue her lifelong dream of becoming a Veterinarian.

During her time at the Animal Emergency Clinic of the High Country, Olivia has consistently shown compassion, dedication, and a strong commitment to both her patients and team. She is currently most interested in Small Animal Emergency Medicine or Oncology, and we know her experience in emergency care will serve her well in the years ahead.

While we are so excited for Olivia and this next chapter, she will be greatly missed by our team. Please join us in congratulating her on this well-deserved achievementโ€”we are incredibly proud of you, Olivia, and canโ€™t wait to see all that you accomplish! ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ’™

๐Ÿฆƒ๐Ÿ Happy Thanksgiving from the Animal Emergency Clinic of the High Country! ๐Ÿ๐Ÿฆƒ

As you gather with friends and family today, we want to wish you and your pets a warm, safe, and joyful holiday. โค๏ธ

A reminder:
๐Ÿพ We are OPEN 24/7 โ€” including Thanksgiving Day.
If your pet needs emergency care at any time, day or night, we are here for you.

๐Ÿฝ๏ธ Thanksgiving Pet Safety Tips:
โœ”๏ธ Avoid feeding table scraps โ€” turkey skin, bones, gravy, and rich foods can cause stomach upset or pancreatitis.
โœ”๏ธ Keep trash secure โ€” curious pets may sniff out bones or toxic leftovers.
โœ”๏ธ Watch toxic foods โ€” onions, garlic, grapes, raisins, chocolate, xylitol, and alcohol are dangerous to pets.
โœ”๏ธ Monitor visitors โ€” open doors and unfamiliar activity can create escape risks or stress for pets.
