❄️Winter Weather headed our way!❄️
Plan ahead for any medications you may need!
SNOW/ICE STORM FORECAST, this is an early look from our team.
If you didn’t know, a winter storm is headed our way on Friday. It will likely impact the entire state.
The map below is a very preliminary forecast from the Arkansas Weather Network.
Some notes:
-You should expect a very cold airmass to be in place to finish the week and into the weekend.
-We will observe a potent storm system tracking into that mentioned cold airmass. This will allow for a widespread winter storm.
-Widespread accumulation of snow (likely over 4”+) will be possible across the blue shaded region.
-There will be a battle zone somewhere south of Little Rock between snow, sleet and freezing rain (ice).
-It is possible some of our southern counties (pink shading) observe ice storm criteria freezing rain amounts.
Power outages and infrastructure impacts will be possible.
-This storm will be a long duration event, Friday through early Sunday.
-It is not going to magically warm up to 60 on Sunday afternoon or Monday. Anticipate impacts into early next week.
Whatever prep you typically perform before significant cold, a snow storm or an ice storm needs to be complete before Friday.
This forecast is preliminary, the snow totals mentioned could certainly go up in the next few days.
We are purposely forecasting on the lower end to account for any model swings given we are still 3 days away.
Bottom line, a widespread and highly impactful winter storm is likely in Arkansas Friday through Sunday.
