When a foster youth arrives at their foster home, the plan is typically reunification and everyone on the team's goal is to help that child and their family reunite with support. However, sometimes after months and months of working, reunification is not possible & at that time the county begins to look for a different permanent option for that child - normally, adoption.
Adoption through foster care can be long, it can be messy, and it can be hard - but it's worth it! Giving that child the option to avoid another move, avoid learning how to work with new parental figures, and grow where they are means enhancing stability and security!
