🌾🚜 Career Exploration at John Deere 🚜🌾

Today, our students had the incredible opportunity to tour Hutson Inc.- John Deere and learn about careers in agricultural equipment and service!

Johnny, the service manager, gave a full tour of the maintenance and sales floors, warehouse (which also carries STIHL products), and even walked students through what it takes to change a massive tractor tire—40 bolts!

Our students asked great questions and got to hear from Lucas in Marketing, who shared about his role, took photos, and showed off some awesome promotional videos.

They also learned about a wide range of jobs—from parts and service to sales, warehouse operations, and marketing—and even got the inside scoop on the John Deere Tech Program at Vincennes University, which combines hands-on learning with paid internships. 🎓💼

It was a great day full of insight, curiosity, and future career inspiration. Proud of our students for engaging and representing our program well!

Our Pre-ETS students had an amazing full-day experience at Bosse Field in Evansville—one of the oldest ballparks in the country!

They kicked off the day with a behind-the-scenes tour, learning about the field’s rich history and what it takes to keep things running—from maintenance and event prep to sports management. Students also got an inside look at concession operations like Dippin’ Dots and Ben’s Soft Pretzels, where they learned about jobs in food service, customer interaction, and fast-paced teamwork!

After the tour, students rolled up their sleeves to volunteer by cleaning up the park entrance—raking, sweeping, and helping maintain this incredible local landmark.

It was a great mix of learning, giving back, and seeing real-world careers in action! We’re so proud of the effort and curiosity these students brought to the day.

Our Perry County crew had a blast exploring hands-on exhibits and discovering something new at the Owensboro Museum of Science and History! 🧪🎨

Career exploration on track! Our Pre-ETS students got a behind-the-scenes look at the Bungalow Car with Wamco LLC and toured the Hoosier Southern Railroad in Tell City. From locomotives to logistics, students learned about real careers that keep things moving. 🚂

Our Pre-ETS Summer Program students had a great start to their week exploring different parts of the community!

Thank you to the Boonville Fire Department for giving us a behind-the-scenes look at what it’s like to serve as a firefighter.

We also enjoyed our time at Richard Hedrick Pool!

Yesterday, our group spent the morning volunteering and learning about the Warrick County 4-H fair. A big thank you to Judson/Whelan Acres for showing us to your pigs, cows, and sheep!

Sometimes, we are part of the journey for only a little while....

We build relationships to support individuals with disabilities on their journey toward independence. We first met Ryan as a toddler; later, we assisted Ryan, as an adult, in navigating his community. Ryan shared his success story at our 50th anniversary luncheon, and he proudly proclaimed that he now accesses his community independently by relying on natural supports. GO RYAN!
