I know three people in this past year whose lives were lost to su***de. Sharing this post because the words and emotions around su***de are on-going and continue to strike those we love. September is National Su***de Prevention Month. This is a conversation that needs to continue….. Will we prevent su***de from ever happening? No, but we can remind each other that we are NOT alone. We are not alone in the struggles and traumas we experience. It can feel that way at times especially with the negative stigma around mental health issues. We are NOT alone! How do we help ourselves and know when someone else is struggling? We can begin with helping to dismantle the stigma and fear that exists and using our voices to either ask for help or to educate and advocate for others!
I am making a huge stand and request of anyone taking the time to read this.
Where does your knowledge Iie around mental health?
I believe that mental health training is as important as learning first aid. I believe that all organizations need to employ a training like the one attached to this post.
My goal- I intend to become a Mental Health First Aid instructor and help break the barriers, and fear around mental health. What kind of education and support does your employer, institution, or community offer around mental health ? Please follow the link in the next line to learn more about Mental Health First Aid-

September is recognized as Su***de Prevention month. It is a conversation that many are afraid or uncomfortable speaking about; a conversation that both those suffering and those around them struggle to admit is actually present. There is the worry of over stepping someone’s boundaries or the fear of being labeled...or targeted for speaking up. It is a conversation that unfortunately can come too late.
There are no words to describe how passionate we are about this topic.
Glazing Saddles Donuts & Eatery proudly lends our support and positive activism to organizations providing a voice to further combat the stigmas, and continued education towards helping those that struggle with Mental Health.
Our mission for the month of September is to raise the bar in terms of awareness. It is our mission to work with partnering organizations that directly support all that suffer...known and unknown. This is more than a month of awareness. It is a lifetime. It is survival. It is the desire to walk through the darkness and hold on to the truth that the path will always always have light. .smullen
