Lilliana's Journey Lilliana Sofias journey as she battles brain cancer an Li-Fraumeni Syndrome We appreciate the support Suddenly our world was turned upside-down.

On Wednesday, September 14th, 2022, our healthy baby, Lilliana Sofia Rocha, went in for a routine check-up, smiling at the doctors and nurses. Lilli’s pediatrician noticed her head had grown significantly since her last appointment. We were sent to the local hospital for testing and then transferred to CHOP (Children's Hospital of Philadelphia). One week after her initial appointment, Lilliana had surgery to remove a brain tumor; a CHOROID PLEXUS CARCINOMA, grade 4 of 4. This is a very rare and aggressive form of cancer. Due to complications during her 14+ hour surgery, Lilliana lost a lot of blood and spent weeks in critical condition. By the grace of god, and with prayers from her army, Lilliana's condition bettered, and she grew stable. Genetic testing revealed a mutation in her TP-53 genome, meaning Lilliana has Li-Fraumeni Syndrome. This means her body is susceptible to the growth of tumors and does not have the tools needed to fight those growths off. After 6 months of chemotherapy, on July 27th, 2023, Lilliana's brain has been labeled with the term N.E.D. or No Evidence of Disease. While this is a beautiful step in the right direction, her TP-53 mutation will continue to have us all on our toes. Lilliana will continue to receive full body scans and MRIs to combat any new cancerous growth throughout her body. At a recent Neuro-Opthamology appointment in August of 2023, we learned that Lilliana has irreversible Homonymous Hemianopia, a brain injury from her tumor. This means that she is blind on the left side of both her eyes. We have been faithfully by Lilli's side daily and are doing everything in our power to give this little girl a fighting chance. It’s that time of year where we are collecting new unwrapped toys, books, gift cards, etc for children affected by cancer.
We are asking anyone that would like to join Lilliana's army brightening their days & showing them we care.

Valença Restaurant in Elizabeth (box is at the take out area)
or contact Amanda (Lilli’s Mommy) Margaret (lilli’s Grandma) to plan a pick up or drop off.

We are at the Portuguese club in Long Branch, with the Red Cross collecting blood until 2pm. The schedule was full but unfortunately already have a couple no shows. This Sunday the Red Cross will be at the LBPC - Long Branch Portuguese Club collecting our donations of life… Do you know that every pint of blood can save up to three lives??? - we never know who’s life we are saving but its such a great feeling to make a difference in our community!
We do it in honor of our warrior

Every toddler is AMAZING, they are ALL WINNERS… but of course we would love to see our warrior princess reach the top in the competition.
The quarterfinals just began, and the competition is fierce. Our girl is in 9th at this time… (🤷🏻‍♀️ yeah i know i dont understand the rules either, last round there were 5 children and Lilli won 1st place. Now there are more than 15 children in the quarterfinals 🤦🏻‍♀️… how many more rounds are there 🤷🏻‍♀️ who knows 😬- but yeah its a “competition” and we are here now SOOOO - WE ARE VOTING, WE WILL continue to support our Lilli until the end… On September 11th when this round ends, only the child in 1st place will move to next round… Can we do this? Can we ALL continue giving our FREE DAILY VOTE to Lilli? YES WE CAN!!! Are there tips, tricks and $$ for voting? Of course… I saw a lot of different “toddlers” on “reels and sponsored” posts today… don’t know how that’s done and unfortunately we don’t have the $$$ /possibilities … but we have an army, a large community of friends & family & we know nothing is impossible- Lilli has taughtis that …

She is a precious warrior, a miracle baby, a survivor of a rare and aggressive brain cancer- choroid plexus carcinoma grade 4, that nearly took her life on September 21st 2022 when she had her first, 14 plus hours surgery to remove her brain tumor…
Liliana has many many struggles which include daily seizures that debilitate her in many ways… she is non verbal but is learning to communicate in her own way… she is a strong determined fighter that teaches us to never doubt, that anything is possible…
Our faith & prayers (& 🙏🏼 of so many) has carried Lilli this far, with God, our Virgin Mary & all our Saints watching over her, she continues strong defying all expectations, living her miracle journey one day at a time…
We are so grateful & feel beyond blessed with the miracle she/we were given…
