It was so great to experience and speak at the conference. There were great presentations that I attended: ARFID, DBT for Grief, and I saw some of the keynote, focusing on gambling addiction. There were others that I was not able to attend since there were presentations going at the same time.

It’s an honor to be able to get on the stage, & for the event host to trust me on creating an impact. My presentation focused on some emotional regulation tools including tapping & art making. These can be applied so the attendees can support themselves and students. Thank you for all that attended and participated in my experientials, and sharing your experience 🫶🏻

Last side for fun: Laura and I were messing around and she took a silly snap of me. I immediately thought that I looked like a food server holding a tray. So, here’s a lovely digital sign instead of a food tray. 🤪

I had the lovely opportunity to present to a wonderful group of clinicians that Toni hosts monthly.

I explored art for the non art therapists and led an experiential into a fun and simple exercise. Art making can be such a healing tool and I highly recommend it. Working through discomfort, allowing the perfectionism to step aside (even just a taaad). No judgements, just the freedom to explore and enter the creative flow. You don’t need anything fancy schmancy to create.

There were images and symbols that came up for folks. Mine turned into a worm, ghost, hybrid? Not sure. May add onto it to see what else comes up 🤔

I am a big fan of chatting about all things creative, artsy, & wellness based. Thank you Toni for having me present today and thank you to all the clinicians who showed up and participated.

🎨What was the last thing you created?

☀️where creativity & community meet ☀️

P.S.- I did bring up Disney Therapist Conference that she will be hosting ~again next year~!! Therapist 2027 Disney Take Over!

In and outside control ☀️

I saw this *template and thought it was a nice overlay for a reel, as a reminder of items within our control and outside of our control.

✨Here are some questions to ponder for 2026

How are you using your energy?
Who are the friends you’re keeping close?
What is your self-talk like?
Are you engaging in self-care?
Do you actively participate in your creative process?

Change can be scary, but so can staying comfortable in unhealthy action.

What action can you take today to assist in your wellbeing?

*I did not create this template. The background is my sun painting I created on canvas.

On Sunday, I facilitated my first CEU. This was very special to me because it’s about passions of mine: art therapy, altered books, and connection. I thought this music for the reel was fitting because it feels whimsical and magical, how I feel a lot when I’m creating, facilitating an offering like this, & when connecting to other creatives. This was a space for art therapists.

Thank you for all who joined me in this experience. I hope that you’re able to explore on your own and carry this out. The follow up email will be sent soon! It was great to connect with each of you, and be a witness to your exploration.

I am grateful for this opportunity and hope others will be coming for 2026. 🫶🏻✨

It’s amazing what was created when I got out of my comfort zone.

Be on the lookout for more offerings in the future.

This is an image of a flag hanging in farm that I saw when I visited last week. It stood out to me, especially as someone who is thinking ahead a lot. Anyone else??
Something that I see helps others during this constant past/future thinking, is the practice of gratitude; recognizing what and/or who we have right in front of us. Acknowledging the here and now. Gratitude doesn’t need to be only big accomplishments or items, it can also be those small moments or items.

Gratitude for the birds chirping in the trees
Gratitude for seeing a dog on your walk
Gratitude for being able to hold your loved one’s hands

✨What are you grateful for?✨

The second image is a sketchbook entry I created with paint markers. I’m grateful that my nails match this door in the background (see, it’s little things too that count!!) 😆

I hope you have a wonderful day today🫶🏻

Do it scared.
Many times we stop ourselves from getting out there and doing things.
What happens before doing the scary or anxiety provoking act?
Is it self-doubt? Does the body sensations take over?

Instead of the thoughts of…
-This is gonna be awful
-I can’t do this
-What if it goes wrong

What about changing it to…
-This could be a great opportunity
-What if this goes well
-This is a good challenge for me

This is also a great moment to implement a supportive skill or resource to assist us. Phone a friend, tapping, progressive muscle relaxation, breath work, and then GO.

There are so many opportunities that we miss when the fear gets in the way of healthy actions. Of course this is not talking about those situations that are dangerous or unnecessary. This is about those situations that could lead to healthy enjoyment, amazing opportunities, and authentic joy.

🤨When was the last time you went outside of your comfort zone?

I’ll go- I went rock climbing and got to the top, five times! I have let fear get in my way multiple times and struggled to get to the top, even though I knew I could do it. I gave myself that pep talk, had a great support nearby, and allowed myself to ride the wave.

Do it scared.
Take those deep breaths and ride the wave.

Artwork created in my altered book, using paint markers.

Art Therapist haunted house edition 👻

When I worked at a craft store years ago, I did in fact have to deal with open glitter everywhere, at times. 👀

Also… no art on walls??? Nothing?? And no art supplies to spruce up the space?? Torture.

A post for giggles on this Halloween day.
Happy Halloween 🎃

The POWER of art! 🎨

Art is incredibly powerful and healing. When adding an art therapist in the mix to have sessions with, that can assist in the process even more for us!

🧡Art connects us- It helps us express what words can’t, connecting us to ourselves and each other.
🧡Art makes space for emotion- Through creating, we can release, process, and make sense of what we’re feeling and experiencing. In art therapy, we can make room for the emotions to come through with art making.
🧡Art builds community- Shared creativity sparks belonging and increases our social wellness. It can bring a sense of support to be within that united space of creative flow.
🧡Art tells our stories- Every time we create, it can be seen as translating a part of our inner world into art. Our art can become a visual form of what we’ve lived, felt, and learned.
🧡Art grounds us- Art can be very grounding, connecting us to our senses and the present moment. When we’re feeling overwhelmed, creating art can bring us back to the here and now; giving a platform to express and explore rather than feeling scattered.

Which part of “the power of art” resonates most with you?

❤️Share this with others to advocate the power of art!
