Several weeks ago, numerous comments were made on a Facebook post regarding the care provided by Emergency Department personnel. Of the comments made, 31% made assertions that their care was poor while a patient in the Emergency Room. We reviewed all visits made by the individuals who made the adverse comments. Of those, only 8% had records that they had been seen in the Emergency Department in the past 48 months (4 years). Of the 18% confirmed to have had Emergency Room visits in the last 4 years, only 1 patient had filed a complaint with the Hospital. We reviewed charts of persons with the same last name, as well as the person making the claim.

We strive every day to give the best care, which is what we would expect for our family members. If you have a negative experience, we kindly request that you contact Administration at 806-467-5705 so we can review your chart. We also made changes in the lobby with the installation of cameras in the waiting areas and check-in area, as well as the installation of a tone sound that will alert Emergency Department staff working with patients, as well as pagers worn by patient registrars.
