Cayleigh Freeling, M.S., CCC-SLP

As the Speech Language Pathologist 👄 👂🏻🧠 I focus on functional, person-centered goals that truly matter to the resident — whether that’s safely enjoying a meal 🍽️ , expressing basic needs 🗣️, or reducing distress through better communication supports.

As dementia progresses, I shift from restorative goals to compensatory strategies, environmental supports, and strong staff education to ensure carryover. I also aid in swallowing difficulties— balancing safety with quality of life and involving families in informed decision-making.

At the end of the day, quality dementia care to me means helping residents feel heard, safe, and respected — even as their abilities change. ❤️

A special thank you to the amazing students from West Texas High School National Honor Society for their kindness and support 💐 and to the sweet 1st graders from West Texas Elementary, Mrs. Rice & Mrs. Ponce’s class, for bringing smiles and happiness to our residents. 🍫🎈
