We joined the Challenege today in support of Mental Health Awareness Month! 💚

Our teams across our hospital and clinics proudly wore green to help raise awareness, spark conversations and remind others that mental health matters just as much as physical health.

We even had a special visitor stop by… Little Empathy who was eager to spread awareness all around!

No one should have to struggle in silence. A little kindness, support and empathy can go a long way. We’ll continue making mental health a priority in our communities and reminding one another that it’s okay to ask for help! 🫂

Today, we’re especially proud to celebrate the mother and daughter duos who help make Emplify Health by Gundersen Boscobel such a special place! From patient care to the many important roles behind the scenes, these women help keep our organization and communities cared for each and every day. 🩺📞🧽

While not all of our mother-daughter employee duos are pictured, we’re excited to highlight a few of the many hardworking pairs who help care for our communities with compassion and dedication! We’re also lucky to have a handful of student interns learning and growing within our walls alongside their wonderful mothers — a reminder that a heart for caring often spans generations. ✨

Our Annual Teddy Bear Clinic is in EIGHT days! 🩺✨ This FREE event is perfect for kids of all ages and offers a fun, hands-on experience to learn what a visit to the doctor is like!

Kids will get to:
🧸 Check teddy’s height and weight
💉 Give teddy a “shot”
🦴 See X-rays and give teddy a cast
😊 Learn about teddy’s feelings
🤸 Show teddy how to stretch and move
🚑 Explore emergency vehicles
✨ And much more!

Date: Sunday, May 17
Time: 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM (last rotation starts at 1:30 PM)
Location: Lower Level of the Hospital, Bluff Street Entrance

As we round out Nurses Week, we’re proud to recognize and celebrate our 2026 DAISY Award nominees at Emplify Health by Gundersen Boscobel. 🌼

These nurses were nominated by patients for the compassionate, exceptional care they provide each and every day. While only one nurse receives the DAISY Award, we know the impact of these caregivers reaches far beyond a single nomination. 💙

✨ Sheena was recognized for her compassion, empathy and patience while caring for a patient. Her positive energy helped motivate them through a difficult time, with the patient sharing they “couldn’t have asked for a better nurse.” Sheena serves patients in both Emergency Services and MedSurg.

✨ Donna was nominated by the family member of a trauma patient who shared how tirelessly she advocated for their loved one. Her compassion, empathy and calming presence helped bring comfort during an incredibly difficult situation, leaving the family confident their loved one was in the best possible hands. Donna is an Emergency Services nurse.

✨ Solitair was recognized for the positive impact she has on those around her each day. A patient shared not only the exceptional care they received, but also the way fellow coworkers spoke so highly of her compassion and dedication. Solitair serves patients in MedSurg and Infusion.

Thank you, Sheena, Donna and Solitair, for the incredible care, kindness and dedication you bring to our patients and communities every single day. We are so grateful for all that you do! 🫶🏼

Say hello to our most recent Spirit Award winner, Dr. Colleen McCurry! 👏🏼🌟

As a devoted family medicine provider and clinician leader, Dr. McCurry brings so much to our organization—expertise, collaboration, curiosity and persistence.

These very traits were on display as she supported a recent Clinical Communication Project which brought staff together from across the Gundersen region to establish standards for various modes of clinical communication. Through her leadership, staff felt supported and engaged with the process which helped influence this positive change. She has not only elevated the way we communicate but also ensured that the voice/perspective of the affiliate and regional locations was heard, valued and honored. 🩺💙

Dr. McCurry’s nominators say it’s difficult to fully capture the level of appreciation they have for her attention to detail, thoughtful planning and unwavering commitment to doing this work the right way. She was intentional and thoughtful in her approach. She engaged those closest to the work, listened deeply to understand our pain points and ultimately helped shape a stronger communication path forward.

Congrats, Dr. McCurry. We hope you are proud of what you helped establish and the impact it will make now and into the future!
