Here is our tip for today 💭
We highly suggest focusing on measurements and overall wellness when trying to lose weight. You have probably caught yourself focusing so much on the scale before that you got frustrated and gave up! For some of our clients, we even tell them to put the scale away for awhile until they can form a healthy relationship with it. If you catch yourself weighing multiple times a day, or getting emotional when you don’t see a number on the scale you like, it’s probably time for a detox from your scale! Instead, try taking progress photos and body stats like measurements. Measure everything! Neck, chest, shoulders, both biceps, both forearms, waist, hips, both thighs, both calf’s. It is easiest to have somebody do them for you, as it can be difficult to do yourself accurately.

Meet Jill.
Jill is a loving mother, a busy worker, and an amateur socialite.
She made a “New Years Resolution,” to lose some pounds and get healthy this year (for the millionth time I might say….)
She is amazingly strict throughout the week:
-green salads, no carbs, no sweets or treats, lean protein, and no wine. (Sounds torturous right!?)
Then comes the weekend….
And BAM 💥
SHE EATS EVERYTHING! Has the wine, the whole sleeve (or 2..) of Oreos.
She just gives up because she already feels like she failed, and one Friday night turns into Saturday, into the whole weekend of a black hole of calories.
Come Monday she sets herself straight and is “back on the horse.”
She does this over and over again, always taking 1 step forward and 1 step back ( sometimes even 2 steps back!)

This marks the 3rd week of our Honor Your Body Challenge! Most people worry about meal plans, exercise, pills when it comes to weight loss. What if we told you focusing on stress reduction was actually the most important of them all? Doing things like breathing and meditation are not always super fun or exciting at first, and they don’t seem to work instantly. But with practice and consistency (like everything worth it in life) they begin to make you more present in the moment, which means less fighting your circumstances and accepting life as it is 🙂
