Seasonal depression isn’t just a winter thing.

For some, the long days, intense heat, or change in routine can bring on feelings of isolation, restlessness, or even sadness—this is called Summer-pattern Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD).

If you’re feeling low and aren’t sure why, you're not alone—and you're not making it up. Therapy can help you explore patterns, develop coping tools, and feel more supported through seasonal shifts.

We’re here for you!

Meet Emma!

Emma Fuini, LICSW (she/her) is a psychotherapist here at CICA Boston and is currently accepting new clients with BCBS and Aetna coverage.

Emma brings a trauma-informed, person-in-environment approach to therapy, recognizing the importance of both individual and environmental factors that impact wellbeing. She adapts her techniques to meet each client’s needs and has extensive experience working with transgender and gender non-conforming individuals, as well as other underserved populations.

Emma specializes in supporting clients through trauma, grief, anxiety, depression, PTSD, and life transitions such as burnout, heartbreak, medical distress, and community violence. She is also trained in providing assessments and letters of advocacy for gender-affirming medical care.

Before joining CICA, Emma worked in several medical settings, including as a social worker in the Surgical and Neurological ICU at Boston Medical Center. She holds a BSW from the University of New Hampshire and an MSW from Simmons University, where she received the “Outstanding Competence in Multicultural Practice” award.

Fun fact, Emma is a big reader—she averages 100 books a year! She also enjoys staying active, trying new restaurants, cuddling with her orange tabby Ruthie, and watching Boston sports or British reality TV.

Spending time with others can be meaningful and exhausting. If you find yourself feeling drained after a busy week of socializing, that’s valid.

Social fatigue is real, especially in summer months when schedules fill up fast.

Boundaries are a form of self-respect—not disconnection. 💛

Through a collaborative, respectful approach, she helps clients feel truly seen, heard, and empowered. Whether you're navigating trauma, anxiety, or simply trying to show up more fully in your life, her work is rooted in real understanding not just textbook theory.

Dr. Young is also the author of a groundbreaking guide to culturally competent telehealth, and currently serves as the first woman of color President of the Massachusetts Psychological Association. Her goal? To make therapy more accessible, inclusive, and affirming for all.

✨ Therapy should reflect your reality. With Dr. Young, it does.

Meet Emily!

Emily Feigenberg LICSW (she/her), is a Clinical Supervisor and independently licensed psychotherapist here at CICA and she’s currently accepting BCBS & Aetna clients as an in-network provider!

With over a decade of experience, Emily brings a warm, affirming presence and deep dedication to supporting individuals through trauma, identity exploration, and life’s complex transitions. Her approach is culturally sensitive, psychodynamically informed, and grounded in empathy and connection.

Emily specializes in working with marginalized communities, artists, and those navigating issues like trauma, anxiety, ADHD, self-esteem, and women's mental health. She’s also passionate about supporting clients with psychogenic seizures and epilepsy.

As both a clinician and a supervisor, Emily’s clients often share how safe and supported they feel in her care—and she believes that real healing begins with trust and curiosity in the therapeutic relationship. Outside the office, you’ll find Emily biking, making art from found objects, and uncovering hidden gems in her neighborhood.
