CICA was built with the belief that who provides care influences how care feels.

As a woman of color and immigrant clinician, Gureen understood the importance of creating a space where diverse identities are reflected not only among clients, but within leadership.

The result is a practice intentionally shaped by lived experience, cultural awareness, and accountability.

Racing thoughts can create a sense of urgency that feels difficult to interrupt.

Externalizing the worry often reduces intensity and increases clarity. Structure creates steadiness. One small step is enough to begin.

May is Mental Health Awareness Month.

Mental health shapes how we think, relate, work, and move through the world. It deserves attention in the same way we care for physical health — with consistency, intention, and openness.

This month, we’ll be highlighting different ways support can look and the impact it can have over time.

Seasonal transitions can influence more than the weather. A simple internal check-in can help you stay connected to your energy, mood, and overall rhythm as routines shift. If something has been asking for attention lately, this may be a good time to start the conversation.

Group therapy brings people together in a guided, supportive space where experiences can be shared openly and patterns explored in real time.

For many, the most powerful part is realizing they’re not alone.

If you’ve been eating at your desk, replying to emails late at night, or feeling like the to-do list follows you home, it might be time for a small pause.

Sustained pressure at work can show up in subtle ways — tight shoulders, shallow sleep, difficulty feeling settled, or a sense that your mind is still running long after the workday ends.

Over time, staying in that rhythm can wear on both your body and your focus.

April is Stress Awareness Month. Consider this a quiet check-in.

Some forms of anxiety are easy to miss.

They can show up as over-preparing, overworking, staying busy, or holding yourself to impossibly high standards. From the outside, it can look like competence and productivity. Internally, it may feel like pressure that never fully turns off.

Over time, that constant drive can take a toll on sleep, relationships, and your sense of ease.

Therapy creates space to understand what’s fueling that pressure and to build steadiness that doesn’t depend on always pushing harder.

April is Stress Awareness Month. 💚

Stress can show up in many ways — difficulty sleeping, irritability, muscle tension, racing thoughts, or feeling constantly on edge.
Over time, ongoing stress can take a toll on both emotional and physical well-being.

Therapy offers space to understand your stress patterns, build coping strategies, and create sustainable change. If you’ve been feeling overwhelmed or stretched thin, support is available.

Meet Vion✨

Vion He (she/her) 是CICA的一名心理咨询师。她的风格温暖而真诚,注重在咨询中建立真实的连接。Vion常和来访一起探索焦虑、情绪低落、身份认同、创伤与压力,以及人生不同阶段带来的变化。
Vion He (she/her) is a psychotherapist at CICA. She holds a warm and genuine style, with a focus on building authentic connections in the therapeutic relationship. Vion often works with clients to explore anxiety, depressed mood, identity development, trauma, stress, and the changes that come with different stages of life.

17岁从中国来到美国求学和生活的经历,让Vion对跨文化成长、归属感和心理健康有了很深的体会。她的来访者中不少是亚裔、LGBTQIA+群体、国际生,或者正在探索自己方向的人。
Coming to the U.S. from China at age 17 to study and establish a life here has given Vion a deep appreciation for the connections between cross-cultural experiences, belonging, and mental health. She works with populations including Asian, LGBTQIA+, international students, or individuals who are exploring their direction in life.

In her work, Vion integrates Relational-Cultural Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, mindfulness, as well as writing and drawing as creative methods. She offers therapy in both Mandarin and English, supporting clients in understanding complex feelings, reflecting on how past experiences shape the present, and moving toward a life that feels more aligned with inner voices.

工作之外,Vion喜欢做手帐、逛公园,以及收集漂亮的马克杯。
Outside of work, Vion enjoys scrapbooking, walking in parks, and collecting beautiful mugs.

Emotional overwhelm can activate your nervous system quickly.

Small regulation tools can help create stability in the moment. Over time, therapy can support deeper emotional processing and long-term coping skills.

You don’t have to navigate intense emotions alone. 💛
