Currently, part of building better outcomes is being able to quickly provide data when insurance asks for it.
But that’s not the bigger goal.
The bigger opportunity is helping clinicians truly understand learner progress in real time and use that insight to better support their techs and clients.
Right now, there’s still a lot of manual work tied to tracking progress for each learner.
If we can build stronger systems from the start, we can better support our staff and make smarter clinician-to-learner matches from day one.
Some clinicians naturally thrive with younger learners. Others do incredibly well with older clients or specific needs.
And sometimes, it’s just not the right fit.
If outcomes data can help pair the right clinician with the right learner from the beginning - that’s where real impact happens. 💙

“Quality in ABA is everything.”
Elisa Mathewson VP of Compliance & Quality, shares why quality can’t be treated as an afterthought. It has to be present in every decision, every interaction, and every service we provide at Blue Gems ABA.
Because when quality slips, families lose something they can’t get back: time.
And time matters when a child is working toward meaningful progress. 💙

What Patty Quan hopes to build at Blue Gems ABA: a more complete picture of progress.
Not relying on just one measurement.
Not focusing on just one assessment.
But truly understanding:
How children are progressing toward goals.
How families feel about the support they’ve received.
Whether skills continue after graduation.
And how therapy impacts everyday life long-term.
From school transitions to greater independence, it all matters. That’s what meaningful outcomes look like. 💙

Happy Mother’s Day from Blue Gems ABA

Today, we celebrate the moms, grandmothers, caregivers, and mother figures who show up with endless love, strength, patience, and dedication.

To the mothers raising children with autism and special needs, we see the advocacy, the appointments, the hard days, the beautiful wins, and the love behind it all.

Your care makes a difference every single day.

Wishing you a Mother’s Day filled with appreciation, joy, and the reminder that the work you do is truly extraordinary.

With gratitude,
Blue Gems ABA

“We don’t just want to know service hours. We want our clinicians to know their learners.”

We sat down with David Wolf, CEO of Blue Gems ABA, to talk about why bringing Patty Quan on as Director of Outcomes was the right next step for our organization.

As Blue Gems continues to grow, our focus stays the same:
quality care, individualized support, and real outcomes for every child and family.

In a field that can sometimes focus too heavily on hours and metrics, we’re focused on progress that actually matters:
goals mastered, meaningful growth, and everyday wins for our learners.

This role is about keeping outcomes at the center while continuing to support clinicians with the tools, data, and leadership they need every day.

We are so excited to celebrate the first National Behavior Technician Appreciation Day - today May 1st.

Day to day, it’s our techs who show up and do the work where it matters most. The consistency, the time, the sessions, the collaboration with families, the early mornings and long days - that’s what drives real progress.

That work is what everything else is built on.

What’s a real superpower? The ability to teach.

Shelley Murawski BCBA, Director of RBT Mentorship & Development, shares her perspective:

"Every individual with autism has taught me something that’s shaped who I am today - patience, understanding, appreciation, creativity, and most importantly, acceptance."

04/28/2026

Darci Giglio, our powerhouse BCBA and Clinical Director, shares her thoughts on the superpowers of the incredible individuals we serve.

"Our kiddos amaze us every day with their individuality, resilience, and the incredible ways they see the world. But it doesn’t stop with them.
The families are superheroes too. Their patience, strength, persistence, and endless love make a difference every single day."

Autism Acceptance means celebrating the amazing kids, the amazing families, and all the strengths that deserve to be seen.

04/27/2026

Autism Acceptance Month may be coming to a close, but the message our clinicians carry is a year round passion. Here’s what our amazing BCBA and Clinical Director Andrea shared about what Autism Acceptance means to her.

"I have the best job in the world."

"Autism Acceptance means meeting each person where they are, celebrating their strengths, and honoring exactly who they are. The most meaningful growth happens when we take the time to understand their world."
