We are excited to share that Vivian W. Williams, MSN, RN, CPNP, Director of Advanced Practice Nursing, has been elected as Chair, Pediatric Urology Nurses and Specialists.

The Pediatric Urology Nurses & Specialists and Associates is a professional organization dedicated to improving the care of pediatric urology patients across the lifespan through educational programs, research collaboration, and evidence based clinical practice. It has been in existence for close to forty years.

PUNS was created by a core group of seven nurses from across the country and inspired by our chief emeritus, Dr Alan Retik to provide an opportunity for professional development.

PUNS has grown to a membership of over 500 Pediatric Urology Nurses and Advanced Practice Clinicians.

We are fortunate to have Lily Coulon, PA, as part of our team. Her expertise in bladder exstrophy, her role in clinic, her support in the operating room, and her work as APC of the day all highlight her dedication and skill.

A very special congratulations to Lily, as she was honored with the Boston Children’s Hospital Physician Assistant Educator of the Year award during this week’s PA Celebration and Awards Ceremony — a well-deserved recognition of her leadership, teaching, and mentorship. In specific, this award emphasizes the impact that she has made in our Exstrophy program in educating families and non-urology providers at B*H and outside institutions about exstrophy.
