We are proud to announce that Vivian W. Williams, DNP, MSN, RN, CPNP, Director of Advanced Practice Nursing, has been awarded her Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) from Simmons University.

The DNP represents the highest level of professional nursing practice, integrating evidence-based practice with advanced analytical, leadership, and systems-thinking skills. This achievement reflects Dr. Williams’ unwavering commitment to advancing nursing leadership and improving healthcare outcomes.

As part of her doctoral work, Dr. Williams and her team formally presented their mixed-methods study, The Impact of a Formal Advanced Practice Nurse Leadership Structure on Staff Engagement, to faculty and colleagues at Simmons University—contributing meaningful insights to the field of advanced practice nursing leadership.

We are excited to share that Vivian W. Williams, MSN, RN, CPNP, Director of Advanced Practice Nursing, has been elected as Chair, Pediatric Urology Nurses and Specialists.

The Pediatric Urology Nurses & Specialists and Associates is a professional organization dedicated to improving the care of pediatric urology patients across the lifespan through educational programs, research collaboration, and evidence based clinical practice. It has been in existence for close to forty years.

PUNS was created by a core group of seven nurses from across the country and inspired by our chief emeritus, Dr Alan Retik to provide an opportunity for professional development.

PUNS has grown to a membership of over 500 Pediatric Urology Nurses and Advanced Practice Clinicians.
