At Tula PT, balance isn’t just a concept—it’s our way of life. Rooted in the Sanskrit meaning of “balance,” we are dedicated to creating a work environment that supports our physical therapists in thriving both personally and professionally.

While we expect our therapists to provide exceptional, personalized care to every patient they treat, we also prioritize a healthy workflow and balanced lifestyle for our team members. At Tula PT, full-time employment is 32 treatment hours per week, with absolutely no double-bookings to avoid PT burnout. Our philosophy is simple: fulfilled and energized therapists deliver exceptional care, which is why we focus on creating an energizing workplace that fosters practitioner growth.

As Tula physical therapists, we embody and practice the principles of healing, movement, and wellness that we bring to our clients. 🌿 Grounding Wisdom 🌿

Let’s delve into the science of being grounded! 🌱 Did you know that our feet serve as conduits for the Earth’s electrical energy? Strengthening the intricate muscles in our feet not only enhances biomechanical function but also optimizes our body’s balance and stability.

👣 Your feet are like roots, anchoring you to the earth’s powerful energy. By cultivating strength in your feet, you can improve posture, prevent injuries, and even promote better circulation throughout your body.

🌟Here are three simple exercises to help you strengthen them:

1️⃣ Toe Spread: Sit comfortably with your feet flat on the floor. Spread your toes as wide as possible, then release. Repeat 10 times.

2️⃣ Heel Raises: Stand tall with feet hip-width apart. Lift your heels off the ground, balancing on the balls of your feet. Slowly lower back down. Repeat 30 times. To make this hard: perform off the edge of a step or on 1 leg!

3️⃣ Toe Yoga: Sit or stand with your feet flat on the floor. Lift your big toe while keeping the other four toes on the ground. Then, lower your big toe and lift the other four toes. Repeat this movement 10 times for each foot.

Whether it’s through mindful movement practices, barefoot walks in nature, or these simple exercises, prioritize nurturing this vital connection to the earth.

🤔Our recurring negative thought patterns, self limiting beliefs, and trapped emotions can cause discomfort or pain within the physical body.

🧐When we are not living in alignment with our values, spiritual, religious, or moral beliefs, we can experience this as a symptom in our physical body.

A big CONGRATULATIONS to AVERY for completing her 2nd marathon! She maintained high levels of perseverance and discipline throughout the training process leading to a great run day! 🎉🎉

Avery’s treatment plan started with a big focus on hip stability and single leg strengthening with continued core and balance exercises mixed in. As her training mileage increased, Avery’s treatment plan transitioned to manual therapy to improve her overall performance and recovery.

Why do we care about our spine health?

✨ Our spine protects our spinal cord and nerve roots that regulate our organs and control our muscles

✨ Our spine provides structure for our upright posture and supports our head

✨ Our spine is a stable attachment site for many of our muscles

Why do we want to keep our spine flexible?

✨ Flexibility allows us to move more easily in our daily lives, for example:
-Flexion helps us pick something up from the ground or tie our shoes
-Rotation helps us turn to check our blind spot while driving and wind up for a powerful golf swing
-Extension helps us maintain an upright posture while walking
-Lateral flexion helps us with sports such as basketball, football and rock climbing
